Net Zero ,is about control of your freedom to travel ,unhindered and unchallenged, the ultimate goal is removal of your car under what ever guise that's trendy at the time..
Here ,in what was the lovely County of Cornwall,we are being foisted upon us a mayor ,who some are now likening to the powers that Khan has ,my prophecy is places like Truro and Falmouth will go the route of 15 miniute city's, similar to the other 100 councils across this broken ,overpopulated little piece of rock..
Not many know about the massive development, promised in Devon whereby from Honiton ,to Sidmouth great swathes of beautiful devonian countryside is to be swallowed up....

I prefer Gary Lineker myself.
It's around 2-3% of England that's built on. This goes down to nearer 1% if you look at the UK as a whole. There's still plenty of green bits left, as is clear to see by simply looking out of the window of a plane (sorry, 'globalist chem-trail dispersion device', obvs.).

Best thing to do with London is remove what's worth saving ie the art etc then flatten it .

Like all stats they can manipulated to suit your cause.
For example
Degree of UK urbanisation in 2021 84.15%
And to turn on my own argument much of outer London within the M25 is very green and lightly populated. So why does the ULEZ need to go that far out, it can't be because the air is dirty, it can only be for the money.

I'm only saying from what I see with my own eyes when on a plane either north south east or west and not a paper written by anyone with an agenda either for or against.
There is definitely more green than houses and that is how it should be.
I thought that's why congestion charge was bought in.....
So we are now paying 2 taxes
And,
if your vehicle is diesel you pay another extra charge to park.

As a born and bred Londoner who has lived in London virtually their entire life, it is heartbreaking to watch what is going on now in our capital city. The rest of you think “ah it's just a London thing” you simply could not be more wrong. I live in a leafy suburb and I watched and thought this would never effect me. I was wrong. This is coming to where you live soon too. Our local high street, is at a constant state of grid lock now. Because they blocked off all of the local through routes around the high street. They done this over the last few years, to pave the way for what they are doing now under the guise of saving the environment. I will buy a new car, and get on with it. But I'm not selfish enough to simply ignore that for so many Londoners that simply will not be possible. For many people life is about to get a whole lot worse.
What is about to happen in London is a restriction on a basic human right, under the guise of “green”. Your right to move freely as you please, is being taken away. If you are poor, and cannot afford to pay the £16 a day tax or whatever it is... Your basic human right to free movement in your own town, or even country, is being taken away from you. If you have a six year old van and can't afford to replace it because your heating bills tripled? Tough luck, your ability to work and provide for your family is about to be snatched away from you.

When the Dartford bridge was built, I had a girlfriend at the time who lived in Grays. Everybody in the local area got a government flyer through the door. The bridge was being built, at very great expense with tax payers money. Our money. The flyer stated, that the bridge would have a small toll... Only until such time as the the bridge was paid for. After that, it would be free for all. After all the flyer stated, the M25 crossing is the life blood of the SE.
The bridge was paid for, the same government sold it to the French. They now control prices. In much the same way as our gas and electric companies.

Your first paragraph is what I've been banging on about.
These road closures are not there to help the poorer areas, they are put in place in the wealthier areas and their traffic ends up in the poorer areas.
I wish I had called the thread something different. This is happening all over the place and not just 'In and around London'

They 100% created this problem with all the road closures. Now they are going to ‘solve' the problem which they created... But it's going to cost. It's ALWAYS going to cost. The Mayor talks of saving young Mildred's lungs... They don't give a single **** about Mildred's lungs. It's going to cost. A new tax. And create a situation where if you are rich it is no problem... Carry on. If you are not so well off... Well it's basically **** you. You're going to pay for this really. It's you who is going to lose out on your freedoms. Single mum, old car? No more trips anywhere for you and the kids love. **** you. Old man with cancer, couple of years to live. Can't afford to buy a new car? **** you, who cares? No more fishing trips for you. Die in your home alone. That's really where we are now at? Jeez.
But we must save the environment. But it will cost.

They really aren't. The current generation of Conservatives are way below the calibre of previous govts of both colours. At no point in the past would Nadine Dorries have got anywhere near any sort of responsibility. The same can be said of others, though a few decent Tories still exist, including my mother's MP, who seems very good.
