I think the early nylon left a lot to be desired with the shrinking and loosening in different weather conditions and condensation
but now technology has moved on and the newer nylon fabrics are different gravy and have significant advantages over Aquatex IMO

If anything I've experienced the opposite, the latest nylon stays very tight in all conditions unlike my old Aquatexx which sometimes flapped around a lot.

I already have the nylon mate, was just toying with the idea of aquatex and if it would be an upgrade, which in most peoples eyes it isnt
And the weight and size added by having the skull cap on it is negligible. Not sure id want to use it without now

Sorry I didn't realise that, its definitely not an upgrade I'd spend it on other fishing things

Maybe modern nylon has improved my opinions were based on the earlier nash titans and mk1 aqua armadillo which which were bad for the expansion and contraction of the nylon

Just my experience with that particular shelter...
Never had it before with Trakker, Aqua or Fox shelters, maybe I got a bad one but it's definitely put me off getting another.

Well I seriously disagree. I had a tempest composite which was nylon and it was absolutely freezing and damp in the winter. I agree through summer nothing wrong with Nylon but I much prefer Aquatexx type in winter as they feel a lot drier inside, therefore warmer. I also think they block out the wind better.
I recently bought an aqua pioneer and wrap which has been lovely through the cold and rain although I have had a nightmare with the skull cap not fitting right, the peak ends up loose and floopy with the centre pole having half an inch give in it. I've had 2 already and both were the same, and will need to send the latest one back to total Fishing Tackle as well. I tried my mates skull cap today, and it fits absolutely fine, although its a DPM version. Very very odd. Must be a bad batch..

If it's cold like now there is now temperature difference between aquatexx and nylon in the bivvy.......a thermometer doesn't lie........

Just feels colder when the material is wet and wind is blowing against it and its a thinner nylon.

I agree feels colder. Reckon its the dampness in a nylon bivvy if all done up in the winter as they don't breath. Main reason I went with Aquatexx for the bivvy but stuck with nylon for the wrap as its lighter and only needs to be waterproof. It keeps the outer of the aquatexx dry and so it can breath.

I did 2 nights under the Aqua Pioneer ev aquatexx with no skull cap and last night I had the door zipped up (I don't normally but my feet got cold the previous night and I've been suffering with bad circulation) anyway it got down to 0 degrees last night and amazingly I awoke to a bone dry bivvy, not a single bit of condensation to be seen! I have to say I'm very impressed with the material on it.
