I fished 3 different dayticket lakes last year. £8, £25, £60 and can see how the prices reflect the venues.
£8 - bream orientated match club lake, very few carp anglers. Fish to mid 20s, originals and offspring, not stocked for the match boys, they're only interested in the bream on here.
£25 - 4 angler exclusive, £100 per night. Otter fenced, nice stock.
£60 - 36 hours, monument 1, treated as a one off social. I certainly wouldn't pay that regularly.
Having said that £50 is perhaps the norm for an average round of golf and that only lasts 4 hours.

I will be very shocked if anyone will pay that for winterley,I guess the new owners are trying to get some money back and see how gullible people are

Nail on the head mate, you've no control over who plots up around you on a day ticket.
I only fish a well vetted syndicate, its no surprise its mostly day ticket waters that suffer theft and as you say zero etiquette from a lot.
I don't want to sit in my swim and see countless transit vans and 50p bait boats dropping iffy rigs 30 yards from the bank whilst it's all being filmed for their YouTube channel.
Ref the golf comment in post 16, at least you know you will get your 18 holes and a game, some of these pre book a swim waters can mean you have very little chance of catching if the fish aren't infront due to the conditions etc.
Why anyone would want to do that is beyond me whatever the cost.

I used to fish Lakemore a lot which is just up the road from Winterley, the lakes there are beautiful, carp to 30lb, and lots of catfish to >70lb. Mark is currently charging £30/24hrs plus £40 annual membership. Now with the stock and the quality of the lakes, that is fine to me, wouldn't have any issue paying that. But that would be on the upper limit for me for a day ticket. £30 with small joining fee or £35 per day, that would be my limit. And those comparing it to France, or lake exclusives, or a round of golf or going to watch a footy match. It's none of these things, it's day ticket fishing in Crewe for 24 hours for 20lb fish. And it's £50. No way.

You lot have it easy, it costs £195 a day to pike fish a certain reservoir (2 anglers p/boat).

The price of a day bank ticket on Chew is now £75, a boat and ticket is £230 iirc. That's a day not 24 hours. Booked fully up, so the demands there for the price. There's been a crocodile of a pike out very recently @44lb+. Plenty of blanks also. Your money you decide who you give it too.

To be honest, I couldn't afford to pay £30 for 24hours, £60 a weekend, not at the amount I fish at the moment.
Due to not working and disability, I fished 5nights last week, I'll let you work that out for a day ticket water.
This is where my season ticket cost has saved me, and I'm sure other anglers must be in the same boat of needing a club lake to fish on.

Likewise, used to fish day tickets with my eldest son, so it would be £50 or £60 for 24 hours, he's working now thankfully. But for the last 3 years, we've joined clubs so it's a lot better. Even get a club permit for my youngest who is only 13, he's not a fully fledged angler, just occasional. But at £15 a year, it's still worth it. Will be taking him lure fishing this week as it's half term.
