Still Jules and Bob as far as I know.
Still Jules and Bob as far as I know.
Last I heard still the same owners, still the same place to collect. They obviously have enough regular customers that they don't need to whore out with snazzy websites and social media BS. Says more about the quality to me than hounding you with emails like the likes of DNA.

surely every business needs to attract new business and promote new products?

Different business strategy maybe. No rights no wrongs.
I know plenty of tradesmen who never need to advertise and they keep busy all year round.

I think it's different markets I suppose.
For example I work in property refurb / development, we haven't ever advertised and probably booked up until June. Someone selling goods though I think needs to advertise as there is more likely a 'click response' for a bait than there is a new kitchen and living room 😂 depending on n budgets of course 😂

Depends what they want from it. Sometimes word of mouth is enough to keep the business turning over. Look at Bait Asylum as another example.

And also think of all the independent rod builders doing fantastic work.

Looks like there baits are still doing the business just seen on there website Frimleys Charlie's m8 was recently caught on there baits
It's always been a great bait. I just think of what's come along in the last few years and dominated the market place, Sticky was a tiny business ticking along for years until it got funding and had a big push, now it's massive. DNA was tiny until they got a cash injection and marketed the hell out of it. I don't think either of those brands make a bait any better than the ice reds or natural impact. Always felt a missed opportunity to me. A lot of the ‘old school' baits like ice red and B5 and premier, nutrabaits had to rely on good solid catch results week in week out to sell. They were great baits then and still great baits today. No social media or YouTube etc. I reckon those baits could still dominate waters it's just no one under thirty fives has ever heard of them!

i think a lot of these older companys like Carp Company are stuck in simpler times when it comes to carp fishing. (not a bad thing) they are owned by men of a certain vintage who probably dont use social media and would much prefer to answer a phone and sell bait than reply to messages on insta or process orders on a website.
I've also got a mate who sells bait by word of mouth, he gave up with selling via Facebook as he said the breed of angler he was attracrting it just wasnt worth it. Hed sell 5kg to them a week later hed get a call to say his bsit was rubbish as they blanked and he wouldnt hear from then again. That could also be a factor.

Sounds good mate. Been fishing locally more lately but would be nice to get some time in there this year.
