Id go try em on mate if its not far, the ones i have are lovely to wear and light weight too they were nice striaght out the box .

I have a sports direct and go outdoors local so might go for a look tomorrow after work to try a few on. Seems to be lots of choice and lots of deals at the moment.

They are warm, but tbh I've not worn them in real depths of winter fishing as I am not fishing in those conditions. I've worn them in snow walking thought and they've been great. Coupled with nice merino wool socks I think they're hard to beat really.

Had my brasher gtx over ten yrs.
Fully waterproof still but not the warmest.
Decent pair of socks and you dont even know your wearing them.
Be gutted when these are no more.

Been wearing Haix British Army Cold & Wet Weather leather army boots the last 5 or 6 years. Warm enough for me and totally waterproof. Grade 1 surplus and looked unworn to me.

Anyone reading this, DO NOT BUY BRASHER'S.
I had a pair of Brasher GTX for eight years as well. They were pukka, British made, real quality. Lasted really well. Absolute quality company.
After Chris Brasher's death, the company was sold to Sports Direct. These previously excellent boots, are now absolute cack. I've seen through a friend just how bad these SD Brasher's are... His literally fell to bits after two winter sessions. I've heard so many other horror stories too.
Do not buy them unless you want to cry. They are simply not what they used to be.
Skarpa GTX are the gold standard modern day equivalent walking boots IMO, for walking to and from swim. Quality Gor-Tex boots, but unless in the sale they are around £120. Baffin Trappers once set up.
If you can return those Brasher boots you have not worn, you should do so honestly.

They are now made abroad are are total crap .The last pair i had lasted only 6 weeks before they split on the sole meeting the leather. They fell to pieces .I took them back and bought scarpa.I now wear these and altberg field and fell. I really do agree do not buy brasher.

Ordered Haix cold wet weather boots. Found 1 pair of size 11s .. seem to be very popular £55 + £7post not too bad grade 1... cheers all 🙂
