Now, now girls....
If you have not seen the hooks try and refrain from jumping on here with your derogatory comments just because you have nothing else to do...
Strange how the only people that post are the negative ones...and all the normal people either don't comment of buy a pack!
If you don't like the hook, don't buy it... if you do like it you can try it...
I tested it for over a year here at the lakes, caught loads of fish on them, and they unhook just like a standard barbed hook, with no extra damage... if not I would not have released them.
If you can't see the advantage of the Nano barb...and don't understand it's function, then it's not for you..is it, simple.

That's the beauty of an open forum Luke, people can express an opinion on the validity of a product whether they want to buy it or not. Fish safety is always a contentious issue and will draw many opinions.
Are you able to clarify your stand point on hook ejection and fish safety? Curved shank hooks are banned at your lake because the fish can't eject them. These Tic hooks clam to be the ‘ultimate anti-eject hook?'
Is that a contradiction or am I missing something?

The nano barb's role of anti ejection is only for the initial pick up..after that the hook behaves just like a normal barbed hook once the angler tightens up, the nano is so tiny that it presence is irrelevent one the hooks main wire diameter has created a hole...it's the same as removing a normal micro barbed hook.
Close up photos of the hook give the wrong impression...most people struggle to even see the Nano barb when they first pick up the hook.
That will have to do you though..as I don't have time to keep explaining stuff to people that don't get it... Theres a write up on my website...if you don't like the sound of it, don't buy them, and just move on.
A simple "not for me" comment will do...if you really have to broadcast your opinions... but just remember no body really cares what you think.

I get the response and support it. Someone has developed an item of tackle that is new and whilst nobody has used it everyone has an opinion.
Bringing out new hooks must be super hard - much easier to re badge an existing pattern. In my view the likely outcomes are
Use them, understand them and maybe be convinced they are an edge.
Use them, understand them, hate them and chuck em
Use them and understand the edge they may give - then start thinking could they be even better - has this been a starter for ten, could future hooks move a single barb lower, should barbs actually be indentations on very fine wire before they thicken out.
Tackle development is not about getting it spot on - it's about trying new things - problem solving, optimisation and refining.

It's not me you've got to try and convince Luke it's all the other lake owners out there because without their blessing these hooks are not going to sell
I might be muddled here but didn't VMC market a hook with 3 barbs?
I can see the process here, its the larger (standard) barb that makes the largest hole, the 'nano' barb is the initial hold as it were.
Barbless hooks encourage more rips and tears,especially in pads IMHO and there's nothing to be gained by fish slipping the hook.
Let the fishery owner decide if his clients are competent enough to use these.

I can't see alot of fisheries allowing them but I guess we will have to wait and see.I do understand stand why people are questioning them,surely people are allowed their opinion on them too.I won't be using them but I can't see Luke releasing something that is dangerous to his fish,I know he takes fishcare very seriously

My comments weren't criticism of the hook but the way it's being described in the link. Saying it takes a lot to drive a hook in past a barb and assuming the majority are using bolt rigs with the weight if the lead used to set the hook. The bolt rig and micro barbed hooks have accounted for thousands of captures over the last few decades and continue to do so but the chod or heli rig are now massively popular and these don't directly use the lead to set the hook and this maybe whare these hooks will give an advantage and I may try them although I would prefer a straight point. Reference barbless hooks causing mouth damage hasone has said in an earlier post, recently someone posted a link to another French fishery owner who rates barbless hooks highly and hates lead clips and the guy posts videos, well worth a watch to get a balanced point of veiw.
