I have used light leads fished slack on sinking lines since 2006 (Thanks, Keith). Unless things dictate otherwise, this is my go-to rig:



The lead is attached via a C-Link



I do use other set-ups where necessary, including lead clips, when necessary, but I am never totally happy with these. I ask myself, which is likely to be the most sensitive, the one shown above, of this one?

Me personally, I prefer a 3 or 3.5oz lead on a run ring with slack lines.

I have caught fish on baits lowered in and pulling enough line off the reel to keep the indicator totally dropped, and casting ranges up to 90metres fishing with slack line, again the indicators dropped.

When I get a run, the line pulls tight as the buzzer bleeps and indicator pulls up, then hits the freespool/baitrunner.

Rare to miss a definite indication like that.

I am not keen on lead clips, preferring an inline if a slack line and running lead is not practical, even on hard bottoms, putting everything, lead, bait and rig in PVA bags.

If you can try them both, running & semi-fixed, maybe try an inline lead.

Out of interest what do you mean most sensitive?

If you are wading out and placing by hand, id definitely be going to a 5-6oz drop off inline
