Putting a bucket of bait out in with no thought. Being told that you are fishing the swim all wrong even before they ask if you had anything.

Why? Some very good fishing to be had with alot of them, and there are some cracking lakes to fish. Places like bluebell, stanwick, sandhurst, horseshoe to name a few.
Day tickets get a lot of bad press on here, but let's be honest they are integral to carp angling whether people like it or not.

Exactly. Quite a variety so something for everyone. We've all had to start somewhere and what better place than a heavily stocked lake containing small to medium carp.
The lakes near me vary from carp queuing to jump on the hook to a lake containing pristine carp that if you can catch one or two a week that's a good session. Sadly though some of the fish in the that particular lake are now starting to show damage since night fishing has been allowed.
