If it's the 12 year old there fetching a few quid.Just put it on whisky hammer.Pop it in the post at wait.They do the advert and description, takes about a month but you could get a good return.Bottle condition and box plays a good part on value too.I've sold quite a few bottles through them and they keep about 5%.

I've been heavily into collecting whisky for the last 3 years, I've spent in the region of 10k but have easily already double in price.
If your in no rush to get rid of I would recommend keeping it, please feel free to PM me for any advice.
Whisky auctions are always great for the selling but no so much for the buyers as they are lumped with the fees.
Depending on the condition of the bottle, they could be cork in the bottle, seal broken or box damaged will make a vast difference in resale price.

What whiskies are you buying? I got a bottle of Mac 18 single malt 2020, thought it might be a good year with covid, etc..
I plan to buy one a year and stashing them.

wanted to ask about your storage, are you holding or using a bond holding service (free from duty, vat and delivery costs) if you are doing it as an investment.

I have mainly single malts from the western isles, really peaty
Been to the Bowmore distillery and have some Bowmores, lagavoulin, laphroig, Jura, story of my childhood holidays and now something I drink...about twice a year, neat with 5 ice

You need to look for limited editions and what makes money at auction.
Macallan and Arbeg normally do well, with a bit of research you will pick it up in no time, also founders bottles i,e distillery's that are getting built The Lakes, Wolfcraig and 8 doors will do well in the future but you will have to wait 3+ years for your first bottle.
On buying one a year you would want it to be a good bottle, ive been buying between 2 and 5 a month, Arbeg had a limited release today for committee members at 10am which sold out within 20 minutes which i manged to purchase.
As for storage I've got mine on a shelf, room temperature is a must and out of direct sunlight I've recently bought a couple of bottles from Cyprus to finish a collection and got stung by import tax due to brexit so i wont be doing that unless its a absolute must.
