Top end £500 plus so mid range around £250 budget £150 or less. Thats how i see it anyway. I paid £230 for my castizms so fit in the mid range category.

Hi, at first I did say mid range, but I didnt expect that to be around the £250 mark, Im way out of touch with new buy prices,. Sorry for any confusion guys
I'll amend mid range to budget, which seems to be more in my affordability range, like I said before Ill have to buy secondhand, theres usually a lot of tackle sold after everyones got there new gear for crimbo, Im hoping anyway.

I would say a castizim is definitely a high end reel.
0-100 budget,
100-200 mid range
200-350 high end
350-550 luxury
I've got Ultegras ci4 5500 xtc's on my 10ft's and I think they're too big. Will be changing to GS 4000's when I can.
That's just because I have multiple sets of rods though. I use the 10ft's for small waters and close in stuff so don't have a need to cast distances which my other rods cover. If I was to just have the short rods I'd keep the bigger reels on them to get the extra few yards when needed.

Cast'zim is not mid range and outdated with Daiwa 20 Whisker 25QD (awsome reel)
5500 XTD (pay attention to maintenance) very good choice with washer upgrade, if you want a smaller reel: Daiwa Daiwa GS LTD 4000

Its hardly outdated, the whisker 20 is the exact same reel with a horrible cheap looking matt paint job and a folding handle. Imo of course the original looks much better and will be the next sort after reel now its not innpriduction a bit like the iso now is.

Awesome? Not in shops here last time I looked so definitely to early to declare them as that. Said before I had four castizms when they came out and bought two emcast 25a's when they came out and preferred them so sold the castizms for what I paid for them and bought two more emcast 25a's. Personal taste but think they look better, prefer the slower drag and in use they perform as good. Just because something costs more it isn't always better, usually yes but not always.
