Can't say fairer than that. Cheap point scoring from the AT, but then again, Myles was indigenous so perceived to be fair game and couldn't claim to be a victim of xenophobia.
FWIW I joined for the first year but after they'd supported a ban on recreational C&R eel fishing but allowed migratory elver netting to continue on the ridiculous grounds of conservation lost all faith in their organisation. Clowns.

There is a new guy at the helm and those close to the organisation say he's been very good so far. Much better than the last bloke.

Really, working alday and into the night, because they had made an almighty cock up and were digging their way out for fear of loosing their over inflated salary. Sorry if that offends you but I also agree with everything pooter has said as well.

I believe the AT's best intentions are there, but they are also trying to maximise exposure for a financial end (more members).
A poisoned chalice it was always going to be.
Agree they have made mistakes, and it could have been approached with more composure, but given the current situation that is so extra ordinary, i don't think they have done too bad.
Be interested to see the membership numbers in a month vs 6 mths ago. And then watch them all leave in 12mths time.

I'd disagree about making an massive cock up - to anyone the reasonable interpretation of the initial document was that fishing was fine. Get on with it. (IMO of course).
It was the constant nagging of people needing specific confirmation that they could fish nights and asking the trust to ask the government.
Tbh I haven't followed the Trust much in the past so have no idea on some of the comments of previous actions.

Hi Speckled , i firmly believe that the AT is about Ego not the good of the sport , i find Rob Hughes a melon, recently he plastered all over social media BREAKING NEWS, then went online with no breaking news , Ali did his own thing too the other day, this quite clearly demonstrates ego factor not a true organisation who when announcing have gone through due process and announce as one. I see no benefit for so would never join.
