I'd use any of the Baitworks range with confidence. If you're new to carp fishing then the last thing you want to worry about is bait, so go for whatever you know will catch then you can concentrate on other aspects

The World doesn't revolve around fishmeals mate
I can promise you that on one or two venues I know, NO fishmeal (however flash) will score
More people need to be a bit more openminded to nut mixes - they are devastating on some lakes and you can sometimes come very unstuck by remaining on the fishmeal bandwagon
besides, the World is changing and the Seas are under a lot of pressure from (very serious indeed) plastic pollution, and overfishing
Its not just our diets that need to change, its the use of fish in animal feed that needs to change as well
trust me it will not be long now until fish use is blanket banned in animal feed
until then you better pull your finger out and find out who is doing the best vegetarian baits
There are a lot out there but the best are slightly under the radar..
If anybody is interested, PM me politely

What an odd response. Where did he say that the world revolves around fishmeals? He just said that Atlantic Heat is a good bait for a beginner to try.

Gentlemen, I'm returning to carp fishing after quite a layoff. Looking at bait, I see it is just as much of a minefield ss it ever was.Back along I've caught on Strawberry flavours, Mainlne's The Grange soaked in CSL. I'm being drawn to Krill and Cell at the moment, HoweverI Do NOT have access to the freezer ( my Mrs would freak right out ). Suggestions on a postcrd please.

I've only moved over to shelf-life baits in the last 12 months, firstly with Baitworks Atlantic Heat and this season DNA Baits SLK & S7.
As with any bait confidence from results and observations of fish eating the bait are what matters to me, Atlantic Heat produced prolonged & aggressive feeding with fish returning time and again on various spots & lakes.
Only just started using DNA this past week and reactions have been very favorable so far.
All the best navigating the minefield!

Sticky Krill shelf life.
Price is better if you can buy the 5kg bags instead of 1kg at a time.

More and more shelf life boilies are the same recipe as the freezer version, treated exactly the same, then given a glycerine and sugar syrup bath and dry.
I know Crafty Catcher, Rod Hutchinson and a few others go with that manufacture method. I can state this personally as I used to work for the company that owns Crafty Catcher and makes theirs and RH boilies.
Rod Hutchinson KMG, Monster Crab and any of their shelf lifes, Craft Catcher King prawn and any of theirs.

I use the krill shelf life's nothing but praise for them, brilliant bait, great track record as well. I am not a bait buff, but I think these are some of the best baits shelf baits I have used

I emptied two lake using sticky krill shelf life soaked in hemp oil. Had the same 40 out on 2 short trips only days apart. It was my first season on shelf life and I was very dubious at first.
