Hi Tony, you are missing something, the mah rating for the small packs is normally at 3.7 or at most 5v, the rm one is at 12v, similar to powapac, carplounge etc, etc
You need to convert to watt hours to compare apples with apples.

The big ridgemonkey unit boasts it can charge an iPhone 8 about 30 times.
The EC unit can do it 7 1/2 times. So maybe you need 4 Ec units to match the big ridgemonkey.
So £199.99 for ridgemonkey and £75.96 for 4 Ec units.
If your one ridgemonkey fails - you've lost the lot.
4 ec units give you a bit more standby
Ec dont say 12v - they tell you at 5v which is what your phone requires.
Andy - you obviously had good reason to need the ridgemonkey

The ec is 26800mah at 3.7v giving a total of 99.15watt hours.
The RM is 77850mah at 12v giving a total of 934 watt hours, so not the 4x factor, nearer to 10x, there is then a much less significant price variance when you factor this in.
The ec is limited to 99.15 watt hours deliberately to comply with airline regs of a maximum 100wh as hand luggage.
The RM will not charge your phone at 12v as USB only uses 5v, but has the ability to run 12v applications eg lights, laptop chargers, inverters etc.
I have the ec, 2 ankers, and in my opinion the best solution is a powapac with a solar panel for less than the RM, with virtually unlimited power.

No worries Steve. People can buy what they like. I was comparing no of charges the different units could provide and the crazy price difference.

Suppose it depends how much stuff you want to charge. I just take one of the EC 26800 £18 jobbies, does me fine for 72hrs. Just done a 48 and used my phone and iPad quite a lot as the weather was awful, still came home with 30% battery on it.
