All fishing magazines come and go but Carpworld was the one I'd occasionally buy over the last few years. I did enjoy the time when the International Carp scene had it's section at the back of the mag. That stuff was an eye opener and very inspirational.
But I do find most magazines tedious in this modern age. Too many adverts (too much temptation), to much plugging of gear and bait, far too much hyperbole and very little original writing style. Add to that the intergoogle and magazines seem quite old hat.
Mind you, I've still got boxes of 'Fishing', Creel, Coarse Fisherman, Coarse Angling Today, Waterlog.....

A shame to see it go but it sounds like CW has run it's course 
Ended up with to mu h advertising that basically subsidised it. Still wear my Original "and still the best hoodie". That's gotta be pushing 20 yrs old lol

Had every issue of Carpworld from No 1 , subscription since issue 100......was a great magazine for many years, but recently something changed and it just wasnt the same any more.....was just about to cancel subscription as I was not even reading it all any more.....suppose I'll need to get a refund now.
Loved the old Carpworld trips to Fishabil, met some well known anglers on those, Big Bill Cottam, Simon Crow, Rob Hughes, John Lilley, Micky Sly and Brian Skoyles amongst others (KIng Cone, Roddy Porter,,)...internet kills another carp mag, only Carpology and Total Carp left

TP writings I could always make sense of, simply brilliant. The best carp leader ever, without doubt, and that's not a knock of the others. Top drawer

You can only regurgitate and recycle the same old stuff for so long, you know reinventing the wheel gets boring, same advertising sponsors with too much input, plugging the same lake, same bait, same product, etc, but different anglers. Yawn.
When a quality person pens an original & informative and well written article is in there - it really stands out.

I bought the very first copy & every copy for the next 15 odd years but it turned into more of an advertising board than a magazine over the last 10yrs or so. I can't remember the last time I bought a copy. I remember when they serialised the first ‘Syndicate' book, I couldn't wait for the next months copy to come out to carry on reading the story!

Used to love reading CW, but as others have said before it changed, not for the better. I too used to have boxes full of them, which only went to the tip a couple of years ago, sold 1-10 in the binder. I now wish I'd kept the early ones as you can't get that info back and though dated it reminded me of why I got into fishing for Carp predominantly, nostalgia trip I know. I used to really enjoy the TDP Globetrotter articles, opened the horizons.

It must have been 1998 when The Syndcate was serialised in Carpworld, the book was published in 1999.
