Tbh i think a lot of the flack he is getting partly due to the sheer amount of prolonged and over the top promotion and hype for it prior to showing it off on Sunday night.
The bigger you build something the harder it will fall unless you get it 100% right. And for so many to raise the same concerns in such a small amount of time suggests that it isnt 100%.
And he cant complain about such a big backlash after spending several months stuffing "project X" down our throats
As usual i think once it settles down, there will be somewhere in the middle where it will sit between wonder rig and death rig... as with most items of rigs.
Personally i don't see the need to have a self striking device if you have a good enough "self hooking" rig with a sharp hook presented correctly

Tbh we are on the edge of morality as we catch fish with sharp hooks , but a self striking device don't sit well with me . His argument about everyone should get in the water or reach in the net and unhook fish to back up his product is grabbing at straws as most of the time this never happens ,on lots of daytickets and club lakes as he well knows . It's demographic targets are fishing such venues , and without doubt see the odd snap off where live rigs will end up actually having the ability to drive the hook home with no help from an angler .
Obviously repeatedly backing up his product by using the owner of Grenville as clearing it will help as he has seen it in action , but some of the claims are farcical as they can't be proved that they would not have been the same without the twig 🤔 , but if I owned a lake they would not be used .

He's set up OMC and has taken what is a brilliant idea and made a total hash of it. Does it look very problematic, yes, but this is the English way, the tipping point to bullying - I fell for it too. Had the initial reaction be, wow, how can we get round the drawbacks, then he could have woken up to the outcome he hoped for, rather than the £1000s of wasted investment.
A small company that got it monumentally wrong, and the video of yesterday compounded the issue - especially the ‘what about this, what about that we stick hooks in fish' it was personal and passionate but very I'll advised.
The good this product launch has done, is shown that more testing, prototypes etc. are needed but with a backdrop of rip off companies and china copying stuff in days. It hopefully has also made a few people understand that elasticity in rigs, used sensibility can be a real edge, certainly one I have employed since the hermit rig - changing to suit particular challenges.
So whilst I too may be enjoying the memes - I do have sympathy for him, and hope he comes back stronger and that the twig in a new guise is a success not just for OMC but for fishing in general. Sometimes, when we are enjoying someone's misery, we should also have enough about ourselves to understand their nights sleep was probably very rough.

Elasticity is totally different from a self striking device , it's driving the hook home not just holding it in place , a step to far for me , but I'm old with different standards . People will 100% buy it on the first day , OMC will make bucket loads out of it so he ain't got anything to worry about .

Different standards? I am quite happy with my standards and elasticity brings with it a great deal of help regards anti ejection - which is aligned to self hooking.
As per my post, I am not advocating its use, just trying not to jump on the bandwagon and feel a little bit of empathy for OMC and take some positives from the complete car crash that is the twig.

Although many of us will obviously have lots of concerns about this product, being new an all, and the fact its OMC, of which, like many companies have their haters and fans, it does drive wedges between people.
The post below, is a great post, and one i think we should take note of. when the product becomes available, lots will buy it, so i guess then, the true picture of the product will come to the surface

The official reveal on Sunday showed Twigs in packaging, that looked ready to go.. whole thing was about to be launched and then the consumer reality hit.. its a monumental misjudgement at least.. Think its gone from OMC..to OMG

Yes I'm agreeing with you , elasticated rigs have been used for a very long time but they are totally different from what is effectively a rat trap going off . As iv said he has nothing to worry about , many will buy it .

I don't think they will. Not twice anyway. Imagine having to add pva tape or cable tie before every cast where you give it the biggun, add a nugget or an pva bag. That's the reality. Even those happy to able or allowed to use the product will soon get sick of that.

For years we have all tried to conceal our rigs leads etc from the might elusive carp son how the hell dos this lump of plastic help in concealment
Mr carp will be laughing his head off when he sees this sitting on the lake bed sorry but to me it's just another item to cause tangles etc plus seen ali explain about using in pva bags realy was the final nail for me
It be like casting a carrier bag
