I reckon you're right about the cam locks
Plus I'm not too sure about the front bars pushing onto small push ons,
Like you say, one issue with them, the bivvy is knackered
Think I'll stick with my original trakker compersite,
Had it a few years now, and been one off the best bivvies I've had,

Handsome looking shelter .... Im not a fan of camo, nor of the heavyweight material so I wouldnt buy one new. i'll wait for the novelty to wear off, price reduces, and second hand price plummets and I might try one

I remember buying the venture razorlite brolly, the second generation one, very angular shaped. Came with cam locks. This thing needed tension to give it it's shape and strength, the poles that came with it were slipping back in under pressure after a couple of uses. Had to buy full set of cygnet dual thumb screw sticks. Kinda took away from the speedy set up and ultimately lost love with it. This cyprinus tempest doesn't even have the option to replace cam lock with screws, so yeah, if that part stops working...
I'll let others be guinea pigs on this one I think, although no doubting it looks smart

I wonder why they went with the cam locks on the front? 100% they will start to slip after a while, but it looks like their are three of them so maybe that will take a bit of the strain.

Maybe a pointless tweak so its not 100% copy

Yes thats what I'm not to keen on, I might just wait a bit longer now for more pics and user reviews after a few months or just get the v2 advanced brolly like I originally was.

I've never owned a shelter with a zip in groundsheet. Are they a massive hassle to line up the zips when you are kneeling on the ground sheet?
Also I've never owned a tempest, so not sure on this, does the top extend out further than a tempest or would this still need a skull cap to stop rain coming in? Making it a triple layered shelter?

You have to zip the groundsheet on first if you want to zip it on to get the right shape, if not just put it in as normal. Skull cap will not require you to use the vapour shield......so double skin only.
Green one will look better when it arrives and they I believe will be bringing out a stripped out brolly version.......

I really am disappointed with the poles that slide in the block. That will be one of the first things to go, in my opinion.

Nice looking tent lol.
I'll be interested to see a stripped out brolly version.

It looks like they extend out the same to me, I see they have the blocks for a skull cap so they must intend taking a skull cap out at some point.

It looks like to me if those extendable poles were on a tempest they would snap under pressure. When you pull the center pole down on a tempest it pulls the whole bivvy into shape but it take some pressure to get it locked down.
