My group has just completed 14 days quarantine - nobody has been checked. We all filled out the online form in advance and it was checked that we did so at Newhaven.

Complete and utter shambles, assume you will be back to work then on Monday Phil? Which lake were you at?

Is it not linked to your passport number? A mate of mine returned from Croatia and had a call as to why he hadn't filled a form in, turns out he did but had mixed up 2 numbers on his passport number, but had proof he had filled a form in? Mind you he was probably one of the unfortunate ones, and he used the airport.

It's only a shambles if people don't bother to fill it in.

Either way, they'll know when you've come back from a country without exemptions, and they'll have you on the phone asking you questions as to why you haven't done it.

Best case scenario? You go to work after spending time in France and get away with it completely.

Worst case scenario? You get a geezer in a purple high vis fining you four figures for not filling in a form that takes five minutes to complete.

Even Asylum seekers fill the poxy thing in problem free before claiming, yet Brits moan like **** about it. Trust me, we have it easy. Some countries will not let you even board a plane without filling it in. Others have been refused boarding for forgetting to put their middle initial on the form...

Totally agree!! There will be hundreds that aren't following the rules upon their return from their French fishing trips!!!!!! And I've missed out on two trips this year with some lake owners confused and angry as to why I can't do the same as these rule breakers!!!

I don't have the luxury of having enough holiday to self isolate for two weeks!

Well I came back from France yesterday and my findings were, on the way out I had all the relevant forms filled out and they didn't ask me for them when I asked if they want to see them the bloke said it has nothing to do with the authorities at Euro Tunnel it's a government thing at the French passport control they didn't even want to see my passport they just waved me through, when I came back once again I had filled in the Public Health Passenger Locator Form and received my QR code and once again they don't show any interest to where I had been and what I was doing they just scanned my passport and said have a nice day, my thoughts are what's the point in doing it if no one is checking if you have done it or not?

I would imagine point is that enough people self restrict themselves from travelling so any effort for additional control is not economic, takes time and resources...

Because I guess the government would prefer people to have some self-responsibility and just fill it in?

I pay my TV license, but wouldn't expect someone to knock on my door to see whether i'm watching Eastenders or not.

I came back Friday and they checked our locator forms and the those in the motors in front of us... The border people also phoned me on Saturday to confirm I knew the quarantine rules...They have phoned me each time I have been out while quarantine rules are in place (3).
Maybe I just look dodgy...

You do look dodgy to me Brian. Maybe the fact I called border force and told them to check you over had something to do with it.😂

I filled the form in last week but it wasn't checked.

A lot of anglers are not wanting their catches putting up on websites/ Facebook etc because they will not be quarantining - tut tut
