I've been out doing a bit of lure fishing, spinning and drop shotting. I can't see how this is any advantage at all. If I'm spinning then the lures are attached with a snaplink, if I'm using a jighead then I just hook it in the eye or the dedicated rod clip as I walk about. It's not like you are trying to keep a rig in shape when lure fishing, it's probably got a wire trace on it anyway, or a fluorocarbon leader on a shotting set up. That plastic box probably weighs more than my rod.
Am I missing something?

The hook up type things the guy sold on the old Cemex forum do the trick. Great little gizmos. Think NGT or Trakker may do them these days.

I can't see it being of any use for my carp fishing as I use rod sleeves that protect the rig and it only takes seconds to recurve a chod rig over your thumb.
But it might be useful for pike fishing as the trebles grab the material in the rod sleeves, jumpers, hands etc.

I've been keeping my rods folded with tip tops and a simple velcro strap for decades and have never once -
1 - Had the lead knock about / damage the blank (its double wrapped in the velcro)
2 - Kinked a boom section (its under tension with the hooklink section intact and attached to the butt ring)
3 - Damaged the hook shank / point itself, or had it catch on anything ever as most of the time its in a sleeve etc.
My rods are 'made up' and the only remaining process is to attach the hookbait / change the rig if absolutely necessary. I use the same rigs for most of my venues anyway so they get packed away (minus the hookbait) every session.
This is why I'm not a believer in this product . . . .nice try but superfluous IMO . . .

So your boom stays straight yes, but any curved section doesn't stay curved.
Using this product is no more work, or no more complicated than you adding that tip top and that velcro strap. It's exactly the same amount of work, probably less. And it keeps your rig in perfect condition.
I understand that you don't want this product, but surely you can work out that other people might and that doesn't make it a bad product. Right?

I still fail to grasp what's so hard about using quick change swivels and clipping on a new rig from your rig box or whatever you use? You could easily get six or so hinged stiff rigs (do it myself) in a Korda rigsafe and still have room for an array of different type of pre tied rigs covering all sorts of different scenarios, just for the cost of a rig box which is far less clunky than what this thread is about.
If you or anyone else wants to buy this thing from Ali's company, go right ahead, I'll not hold you back and try and convince you otherwise; your money right? I turn up from work after a long drive to my place and convenience any speedyness of setting up is paramount, I really get that. The last thing I want to do is spend ages faffing about and I'm not even remotely setup and it's getting on for 10pm and still not had anything to eat, all the same, quick change swivel to unclip the rig from last week that I've just used to find my spots, a new one on, all systems are a go and not 60barr lighter for the privilege.

Or you can leave your rig clipped up and put it in this rig box.
It just sounds like people want to poo poo this product because Ali has his name behind it. I'm not even going to buy it, but i can see a use of it.

This is just a box, does the exactly the same, but it clips to your rods. So how can that be a bad idea?
