All the social media in last 5 years are trying to make it look that if retainers are banned it is ok to use landing nets... I guess selling nets makes more profit...

My club now has a rule that you can't re-cast the rod until after the fish has been returned, so it doesn't matter what you keep the fish in. We are expected to return the fish promptly.

I like that rule.
I have recently re-wrote the rules for a local syndicate and added that all fish must be returned within 30 minutes, day or night.

👍🏻 its just how blinded by social media these people are. 99% probably havent even seen them. I wish i had a time machine to go back to carp fishing of the early 90's when i started out.

I certainly wouldn't be buying the first lot of rods after the advert pretty much told you there will be a newer better set out after a while "constantly evolving" or something.
That said, I'm half tempted with the landing net, I'm not sure why though. Ive never owned a decent landing net and this is the first one that has peaked my interest.

Even better in early 80s when I started in the 80s were tricast rods Nash overwrap on a wavelock brolly shimano sea spin reels and delkim conversions or optonics richworth tutti fruity rod Hutchinson scopex sea food blend lafuma bed army bag monkey climbers
Nash luggage we where so excited my mate turned up with the first proper bed the km bedchair everyone on the lake came to look at it lol
great time

i remember seeing the first big pit reel (Biomasters?) ... It made my seaspins look like toys

Or can be much better as later ones as you cant afford bad publicity with first batch, rod breaking etc. But I wouldnt connect that with Korda (more with nash, fox etc) their gear is normally spot on after testing and doesnt get recals etc. but on the other hand they didnt produce such products till now so who knows...
