Problem is with renewables the amount of land space you need for wind turbines, solar panels etc etc.
Sadly the green spaces get gobbled up for housing...
The leading countries for renewable energy tend to have the less people, like Norway, Sweden & Finland

Doesn't have to be all land based. Off my old home there's a huge coastal wind farm.
Plus the land can be multi use.
Housing isn't the big land gobbler, livestock farming is. Or is this just you getting ready for another pritti moment?
Scandinavian countries are well known for being more progressive in terms of ecology among other aspects of society- education as a prime example. Maybe the link is just that they're forward thinking where we aren't.
There are always those who come up with excuses for not developing renewable and green energies but we're past the point where we have a sustainable choice if we want to leave something worthwhile for tge next generations.
Short term greed is the overriding reason for the over reliance on fossil fuels.

Massive issue with renewables is they are not green. The disposal of billions of solar panels is going to become a nightmare. Turbine blades another problem, they can not be recycled. 52000 tons of blades going into landfill every year across the world. Shocking when you look into it.

A large proportion of solar panels can be recycled.
Presumably you are referring to glass fibre turbine blades.
There is now technology available to recycle these blades and recover almost all of the glass fibre.
