I'm thinking of changing my alarms as I just fancy a change.
Option's are Mini Micron X or Micron RX+.
Big price difference, and is it worth it? I tend not to fiddle with settings once set up, so really just fit n forget!
Is the extra sensitivity and maybe range on the RX+ really worth the high price?

I've had both, and have mentioned it on other threads recently.
The RX+ are not £500 better than the Micron X's
I'd say that the RX+ receiver is better built in a pure use of plastics sense, than the Micron X version but in terms of the actual alarms, the Micron X's are a peach.
I'm not one for "celebrity" endorsements, quite the opposite - but I note from YouTube that Tom Maker still uses his Micron X's, and he's obviously someone who could have any alarm on the planet gifted to him including the company standard issue delkim's (Korda)

Personally I don't think so, you get majority of functions on the Micron, certainly the ones that are actually useful. I'd much rather spend the £400 saved on bait or a syndicate ticket!

Nothing wrong with the mini micron I have them and had the original ones
as a lot of things today you paying for things you don't need and as we all know with carp fishing it's about being trendy
A lot of top anglers use basic alarms
As said save your money for other things

I'm going to say yes. Better build quality, better range of sensitivity and features. That said I've owned the micron x aswell and for the money they are cracking

I upgraded my mmxr alarms for the new rx+ when they first came out. I gave the mmxr set to my nephew, and they are still going strong. The rx+ is a better alarm, however if I had to go back to the mmxr i would not be too upset.

I'm not sure I've heard one story about a Micron X go wrong, but plenty about the RX+.

Micron MX do 85% of what the RX + do for half the price. I love the RX's and if you can afford them, get em. But if you want a good alarm and don't want to spend the cash, the MX is just the job. I have both, BTW.

I've had both and would say just get the X alarms for the money.

Yes and no.
There's no official MK1 and MK2, but... Fox changed the frequency (radio) used at some point. This meant anyone buying a new alarm couldn't then pair it with an older receiver.
The newer ones have a sticker inside, or some jazz. Let me see if I can find the thread which details the difference

I've decided to go with a set of Mini Microns X's.
I have a set of TXi-d's at the moment so will hang on to them. If I don't like the fox's I'll sell em and go back to the dell's. If I feel like I need more features I sell both and get some RX+'s.

I've got the micron X's and receiver i. Camo, had them a while now and I really do like them. Lovely to look at. I'm a bit like you, once they're set up I'm not one for fiddling other than to adjust sensitivity.
I do like the RX+'s, some tones they give off you won't get on the X's, and the sensitivity settings are better. ( more options).
Got to say though I thought about 'upgrading' to RX+'s myself a couple of weeks ago, I got the buzzer bar out of my pouch to photo to stick on Ebay, then realised I really do like them and stuck them back in the pouch.
They're lovely and slimline, simple to use and the receiver is decent range. I've also dropped my buzzer bar in the margin a couple of times setting up but they still work faultlessley.
I think (i know) I'm guilty of spending for spending sake. I think I'll treat myself to some mk3 swingers and presentation box instead 😎
