I've generally used pineapple flavour for my yellow pop ups. However, I'm tempted to give banana a go, anyone had any success with banana flavours and can compare?

Yes. One of my fave flavours on pop ups. PB banana is good, he did a Matt orange one which I did really well on but he doesn't make them as standard anymore I don't think.

Flavour wise it varies from supplier. There's a more natural smelling banana flavour and one that smells like the banana foam sweets.

Banana has always been my favorite flavor.

The mainline flavor was my goto but that has been discontinued & I've been told the Solar Pears of Banana is a good alternative. I'm not sure on availability but the Carp Company Banana flavor was very good too.

If you want to buy off the shelf, I was given a tub of DT baits banana pop ups last year that looked good & smelt amazing.

I used to love the old Solar Dairy Cream mix (one of the savay seed mixes) with their caramel toffee and pear of banana's in it. Was a lovely bait which I've managed to recreate quite successfully using AA Baits' HNV Superseed mix, with Cream stim powder (premier), banana and caramel cream EA flavourings (Nutrabaits). I've got a sample of banoffee coming from AA baits this week, as my Nutrabaits supply is low and the caramel cream is no longer listed on their website. I now get most of my bait supply's from AA, so makes sense to have a look at theirs.
Sorry to the OP for getting sidetracked off topic lol.

I think he means these - not tried but use poacher with confidence https://www.poacherbaits.co.uk/collections/pb-specials/products/yellow-bangers-wafters

I did, and it came up with lots of pineapple and banana pop ups. I don't think that's what was being recommended. I think it was the Poachers Baits as per the helpful earlier post.

I guess I should be proud in some way.

Scarily this lot also had Specialized Hook Baits written into the code of the website when it was built, so google searches for my company come up second.

Full page advert from last week. Sixth word on the page long advert is our name again. It's like it's all etched on the brain. Nice to see all these companies curing, when they have not the first idea what I am even referring too. It's impossible to put cardboard pop ups through our process. It only works properly with 100% food. Not airballs, not cardboard.

The American spelling of Specialised was very deliberate. It was only to make us stand out on Google in the UK. It worked too.

I guess I should be proud.

There are SS2 pop ups on sale. SC2 pop ups on sale. Everyone is curing, culturing or some other variation on it. Without a single solitary clue what is even being referred too. It's quite shameless in reality.

Barely a week goes by where this doesn't happen at least once with a company I work with. Code, SEO optimised for competitor searches, PPC with one company titles paid for and linking to another company etc.

Sometimes the company owners are aware, a lot of the time it's some marketing person gone rogue thinking they are being clever.

Copyright/trademark lawyers are raking it in nowadays.

We are a small community Andy. It's shameless the way everyone is just trying to rip everyone else off. I am guessing this is AnglingDays company, as it's the second link he has posted in a week. Last year he was sending me PM's asking me about base mixes. If this is his business, that's how underhand things are. This is why I'm super wary of getting involved with bait talk.

Copying every word I say, is never going to bring anything long term. Will work with novices, nothing else.

I get this stuff pointed out to me by some of the best anglers around, they are always laughing their heads off when pointing it out to me. Gary Peet of the TackleBox is having "I just wana be Mark" tee shirts made off his own back. First candidate for a free one is Kodak of Kodapops. When we disappeared off social media for a couple of years... Kodak was telling everyone he had put me out of business, including Gary Peet. Gal just laughed behind his back. During that time period our business trebled in size, just through word of mouth. But that is the pure stupidness of my competitors. They are all looking at me at all times. I'm in no way interested in anything any of them have to say or more especially do.

It's the carp game in reality. It's all just everyone trying to copy everyone else that is doing ok at any point. Look what happens the instant anyone opens up a business that works. There will be ten similar businesses opened up within days. Look at all the media companies.

It's a sign of success in 2025. If you don't have at least five blokes trying to rip you off, it's not working

As you have already noticed, no-one is copying Specialized, trying to piggyback or taking shots because its are doing a **** job. Quite the opposite.

Best thing you can do is try and filter out most of the noise and carry on innovating and being a unique thinker. Take action for the serious infringements but let the background noise disappear off into the background.

Hard not to take it personally when its your business and you put a lot into it though.

This is why I'm super wary of getting involved with bait talk.

Thats a shame but I can see how its gone. I've been catching up with the forums, bait in particular after quite a few years off and about. Never seen so many threads with deleted posts!

There's not many other people, if any, writing openly on different approaches to bait, encouraging different approaches or doing anything different bait wise in the UK... hasn't been for a while.

Shame that when someone comes along that does then its treated with not great welcome.

People made a fuss when BAF left the home bait market, yet its also one of the most unwelcoming and un-inspiring "sub-cultures" to anyone trying to get into it.
