Just a quick question I'm off fishing early next week and want to know if I can put some frozen boilies in a bucket and glug them and would they be ok to leave over the weekend till Monday as I won't be around from Saturday till Monday to prep them, just worried if they may go mouldy/off.
Just a question that's all just want to make my baits as attractive as I can as the water is very very coloured.
Any ideas or tips would be appreciated
TIA

Keep them in the shade and they should be fine glugged up.
You could always dry them out for a day or two, then glug them. They should deffo be fine then

Sound thanks mate I'll do that

I think there's been a lot said on this forum over the years regarding fermentation and active ingredients. A glaze will help slow that process down but it's nothing to stress about if/when it does occur. I'm definitely in the camp that believes they're at their best when they're kicking up

What type of glug you using? If it's Glycerine based. The Glycerine will act as a natural preservative will also harden the baits aswell. Some of the salty type glues will do the same also.

Could always add some glycerine to it if it bothers you, it's readily available from Boots or your local chemist. I've got 4 year old S7 hydro, still perfectly good, it may well have a small amount of preservative in it already.

I've kept freezer baits in liquids in the back of my van for weeks
Every bait Is probably different, but I wouldn't hesitate at all to do what you're saying. I always prefer bait that's been out the freezer a while.

Some company's add Glycerine as a bulking agent. So very well could be. If you can bare to taste it.. if it slightly sweet it's probably Glycerine.

The only liquid DNA do that contains glycerine in any amount is the Baitsoak. This product is produced purely for the use of preserving baits that would otherwise go off. A great tip if going to a freezer only French venue is to stick 5 kilo in a bucket and use 50ml of the bait soak over the top, thoroughly mix then stick back in the bag. You will find they absorb it totally and will give a short term shelf life to your freezer bait. As it is only absorbed into the outer layer, therefore stopping air getting to the bait it will very quickly wash back out giving you the benefits of a freezer bait without the hassle
