Right I've round in circles over the last few years trying to find the ultimate luggage solution to take the right amount of kit with me.
What rucksacks and carryall's are people using and recommend? I need one of these to be able to take my banksticks alarms and other bank ware etc
I do use a barrow so a rucksack isn't the be all and end all, but I may also be on another water this year where it's days only and not barrow friendly
Any recommendations and advice appreciated.

The Aqua roving rucksacks take some beating imo, my standard one must be 6 or 7 years old now and still working perfectly.
Some people seem to hate Aqua zips but ive not had any issues.
If I had to replace it I would see if the deluxe version which is larger would fit under my bedchair.
The size works well on a barrow or its is quite comfy as a rucksack with a lumbar strap and good padding.

I get everything in the Thinking Anglers rucksack. Large enough with enough pockets to fit everything you need without being big enough to take a load of stuff you don't need.

I got a scope recon rucksack holds plenty big enough for everything alarms in the little out sleeves but I do have a separate cook bag.

Small rucksack for days and fishing equipment only
Overnight, add medium carryall for cooking stuff and a few clothes etc
Few days, rucksack and XL carryall. That's how I manage it anyway

I feel your pain - but for me luggage is just a massive distraction.
When you think about actual tackle, even with hook baits you can get everything you need in a small rucksack. But then you've got - bait, food, water, cooking stuff, unhooking mat and so much stuff that luggage just doesn't work anymore. I look at the size of some on the bits out there and think Christ, all I need is 6 pots of bait, tackle box, rig safe, bag of bits, scales, head torch pva and all the rest is parafanalia!

Check out the Diawa infinity range. I have most of the range, the low level carryall is awesome and they do the same in a rucksack version. I think Angling direct do them so if you have one nearby worth looking at.

Thinking Anglers quiver with rod sleeves, offers enough protection but also light weight along with either the rucksack or carryall.

I too have been on this journey way too long and only now have I found my ideal setup.
I use the large Nash waterbox, think it's a 230?.
Waterproof, fits on the Barrow lovely, strong handles at the sides but most important I can fit all my gear in it that is needed to fish and also handle/weigh the fish. So in it I have things like Rigs, tackle box, hook baits, zig stuff, pva bag gear, scales, fish care, camera gear, spare spools etc.
I need this for whatever length of fishing I do so that always comes with me.
The rest is dictated if I'm doing a short day session or longer session. Things like brew bags, food bags all packed ready to take or not.
I also have 3 separate rod set ups all with their own reels, nets sticks etc so I just grab whichever set I need depending on the venue and go with no swapping stuff over from one bag to another.

I travel light for days and overnights.
Last year I purchased a Dutch army day pack. It's perfect in terms of size, comfort and durability.
Wouldn't entertain an angling brand for luggage ever again.

I've gone Korum Ruckbag with food, books in the main compartment, spare batteries, 2x power packs and headlights in the side pockets.
My clothes, stove, gas, scales and cooking equipment go in an ex Army 100l Bergen.
Bait buckets, water, simply don't fit in luggage, then I have my Plano tackle box.
If I need to barrow gear to the swim, my Monster Unhooking Mat doubles as a carry bag.
Otherwise I'm lucky in that I can unload behind most swims on my syndicate.
It amuses and amazes me though, if I do a night for pike, chub or barbel I take so much less, and everything goes into an ESP compact carryall bag.
