Is it just me or is the Korda podcast boring now? I am a fan of Rich Stewart and especially his interviews on Cyp. He is obviously very knowledgeable and knows his history, but for me his Korda Podcasts are not working. Maybe the fact that Simon Pitt was not an out and out carp angler made his chats go off on more interesting tangents or is it that the calibre of guests since Rich has taken over have been poor or too Korda-centric? I'm not anti Korda and their podcast used to be the one to beat, but I think that mantle is now held by the Baitworks guys and the Nash podcast..........

Agree and think you've hit the nail on the head - Simon had a more diverse perspective and natural curiosity that made for more interesting responses . . .

Yep. I totally agree. For a long time I don't think I missed a single one. Driving around in the van I'd listen to them from start to finish. Since the relaunch I've maybe listened to two or three at most. I simply have no interest in most of the guests these days, with very few exceptions. Perhaps it's an age thing for me, I'm 50 and a lot of the earlier guys were my era and waters that I either fished or followed with interest. I haven't heard of half of the new guests, which is probably why I think I've listened to Mr Fairbrass, Spooner and Dave Gawthorn and that's about it recently.

Yep dull now.
I don't mind listening to almost anyone guest wise and a lot of the time the less well known anglers have more interesting stories that haven't been heard before or do the kind of fishing that I can relate to more!
However, the fella that does the interviews now does so in what I'd describe as a management style, he interviews like he's just done some sort of coaching course or something, it's all very structured.
I used to really like this podcast and listened to all of them start to finish, I now end up getting bored of it and not bother finishing them!
A shame really!

The most recent Clive Gibbins episode was the best after a slow patch. I liked the Alex West one. Could not give a monkeys what Neil Spooner or any of that crowd are doing so I skip those.

They've really scraped the barrel with the last few guests, I mean, 'representing the North, Mr Clive Gibbins'. Painful. Actually physically hurt listening to him.

I'd have to agree, I hate to say it but I don't look forward to them as I did. It's a shame as when they brought Rich in I was quite excited, as I believed he was one of very few people who could take it on from Simon and do well, his knowledge is exceptional and his Cyp interviews that I've seen have been great.

I think all carp podcasts are boring now. But they had a short shelf life anyway as you can only say so much about fishing.
Simon had a different interview technique as he didn't approach the fishing straight away he tried to get to know the person.

I just find the questioning far too loaded. He obviously knows what the answers are going to be and he puts the answer in their mouths for them. I like Rich, but I agree it's not working and I've stopped listening to them now.

Totally agree, especially re. the Nash podcasts. Hassan is great and having the likes of John Timmermans and Martin Bowler only makes them better
The korda ones are really really dull now. Rich Stewart talks and interrupts far far too much. They don't work anymore which surprises me as I thought he'd develop them further

He may have great knowledge of the Carp “Scene” and it's history but I find it a bit condescending when he interrupts people to put insignificant facts right or adds on to the end of a story with a fact about a particular fish or lake etc.

Didn't you do the Carp chronicles pod a while back Joss? On Otters from memory I believe? Quite informative on the subject you was aswell. You got another Pod lined up then?
