Has anyone actually handled these reels or actually own them. The fulcrum or avenger reels are what I'm interested in. They look a nice reel in the pictures but I wonder how well they perform or will stand the test of time.

I wouldn't bother taking the chance if you want a cheaper reel and don't want shimano or daiwa then have a look at okuma reels lot of reel for the price had great reviews

I heard they're all under the same company now, D.A.M, okuma, prologic. They probably do seem too good to be true

I got a set for my youngest. He's 13 and isn't fully into his fishing yet, they were £15 each on special offer from AD, with a graphite spare spool thrown in. Think the model was the C series Baitfeeder. I thought at £15 each, what's not to like? If he doesn't get into his fishing, then it's no big deal at that price.
Line lay is OK but not brilliant. Clutch and free spool work fine.

I bought a £15 Prologic baitrunner reel for my GF to try and it's surprisingly good.
Drag and BR works fine for almost 12months now.

I bought a set of pro logic element bait runners from AD last year when they were in the sale. Paid £29 each for them and they have been brilliant. 5 years warranty.
Pro logic are very overlooked, the development that has gone in to some of their latest gear is second to none.

I agree, overall Prologic gear is good, I've had a quite a bit of it over the years. I currently use their SMX alarms and have done for about 5 years now, trouble free. Got my youngest some of their BAT alarms and they're decent. I'd use anything that they make with confidence.

Theres no development mate, they are brass platers they just sell on what they source from the Chinese mass produced market..
The only companies who R & D reels are Shimano and Daiwa and to a degree Penn for the carp market.

I've got the SMX alarms too..which I heard they tested in Siberia or somewhere to make sure they worked well in extreme temps. They feel a bit cheap but I've had less problems than my mates who all have delks. The range is also much better than delks, they have a drop back alarm and the little LED on the receiver is perfect to light your bivvy up on night bites.

Yes, can also second the alarms. They are bang on, RMX's are great.
Whether they ‘develop' gear or not that intensively, over the past couple of years they've really upped their game to compete but have kept prices reasonable. A lot of gear now is bought for the name and not its purpose.
Having said that, nearly 20 years ago, I bought a 5 rod quiver with sleeves that pro logic did. It was £50 and to this day, the sleeves are still being used and are almost like new.

To counter that I bought a quiver last year. Used it 3 times and the stitching is already coming apart so the quality is poor. My son has some cheap Prologic 10ft rods which are fine and I am happy to champion the BAT+ alarms as one of the best budget alarms on the market but I definitely do not have enough confidence in them to buy the reels and prefer to stick with the tried and tested Daiwa, Shimano, Penn and Okuma reels

Prologic, Okuma all come under the Svendson sport brand. If anything like Okuma reels they should be good

Rapala VMC now have the Okuma brand in Europe and Russia.
I think Svendsen still have Prologic.
