Probably a much asked question, but looking to spend around £120 on an all round rod. The Shimano TX4 tribal in 12ft 3.25tc looks to be decent, what's peoples thoughts? Anything else worth considering? Cheers Kris

Have a look at the Tackle Box Darent Valley Specimen Rods, 12ft 3lb (50mm) only £64.99 each.
Or shop around for any within your budget, second hand ESP Terry Hearn MK2 or MK3 12' 9” 3 1/4lb rods, these would be very versatile.

You should be able to get a set of Greys aircurve in 3/3.25lb for your budget. I had some Prodigies years ago in 3lb that were lovely all round rods. I think the Aircurve are supposed to be a bit stiffer than the Prodigy, but cast better at range.

The tx range or the second hand market, lots of v expensive rods out there at good used prices.
The problem with buying a rod from the likes of Shimano,Fox,Nash etc is that in a couple of years you won't get spares if break a tip section.The Tacklebox rods are excellent and they will sort out any issues very quickly,I learnt very quickly to never buy a rod from a company that changes it models every few years

Harrison Torrix 12ft 3.00lb
All 3 felt stif cant belive there arre people that say the are a joy to play fish with.
Then the shop owner give me an Nash X series 3.00Lb, and liked this one better than the other 3
I'll stick with my Daiwa rods but if I had to live in the UK I would go for a Tackle box rods

I use to just use Shimano rods I really liked them but found out the hard way the same way you have mentioned that I couldn't get a spare tip section, now I have mostly freespirit and Harrison's which I find it's much easier to get spare sections for if needed

If you want something a joy to play a fish see if you can have a play with some second hand Ballistas. I picked up a pair of 2.75lbs for £100.
Just saw you're in Belgium so maybe not so easy.
