Currently looking for a decent 2 man bivvy for France and also be able to take my boy with me. Want it to be a decent size and quality build. Is the Tempest 150 with social cap worth the money..... all my other stuff is Aqua. I know nothing about the Solar 2 man bivvy. Ridge monkey seems ridiculously heavy. Any info and advice welcome. Cheers

I have the solar 2 man for weeks in France and the rare occasion the Mrs comes with me.
Its Solid, Had plenty of room and is fairly easy to set up once you have done it a few times. I also have the inner capsule which helps with the bugs for the Mrs, but in France i didn't bother.

Trakker slx v3 2 man only me but do like my space when I'm on a lake with room for my bivvy other than that I have a tempest brolly and that's great on the canals.

What about the RV4 Oz tent it's not as heavy as the rip-off monkey one

Loads of room for two, comfy, good quality and lightweight for its size.

2man for France def Tempest 200 - its stupid big. That or the Trakker Colossus (if you can source one) or Trakker Superdome - Superdome is 190cms high!

Yeah mate its a heavy duty ground sheet and velcro's in. Like most solar stuff its a good quality build of materials.
Its a touch under 5ft 10 on the inside - my Mrs can just fit in under it.

I have the Trakker Slx V3 plus for the exact reasons you state, for French trips and for when I take my son. Plenty of space and not too difficult to set up, having the inner capsule is great for comfort and keeping the creepy crawlies out for my son

Thats also my 2 person bivvy i saw the t200 i was surprised how small it was inside, the T200 is barley bigger inside vs the slx plus but the outside size is a big difference, i would never trade my slx plus for a T200

I looked at the V3 plus when I was buying the T200 and the V3 Plus was smaller.
V3 Plus size: Approx 168H x 295D x 330W
T200 size: Approx 170H x 310D x 375W

ofc the slx plus is smaller inside, but the t200 is 375 wide and barely bigger inside then the Slx plus, you would expect it to be bigger from a bivvy with such an outer size

I'm sure the difference is virtually negligible but the tempest is massive from my perspective.
I would use mine more but I have a Frontier XD which doesn't need planning permission to erect.
Both excellent bits of kit in their own right I'm sure.
