Got a session booked on here next week. Just wondered if anyone had fished the place and what their views were. Also any tips.

There are still some originals in there and most of the stockies are 20 ish so not a pb water really.

It's all about the coin,...the ethos and individualism in angling has been lost..
It seems..in general..
It's got really ,really boring and samey ,rock up ,gravel or bark swim,name of swim on a board..a whole list of rules and regulations ,blah ,blah...boring ,boring boring....
I'm not your average angler,been fishing or out doors stuff all the time since five years old...my whole life spent out side, regimented,controlled pastime,no surprises,everything based on how pimped yer VW van is ,or whether you've got the latest clothing..yep that's carp fishing 2022..Reset....!

While I admit we can unload behind our swims on my syndicate, all cars have to be put in the car parks, which are spots out of sight of the Manor House, no concreted real car park.
There are only a few 'named' swims, The Dam wall, Marker post, Black Poplar and The Stump.
Uncaught fish, along with some good looking stockies.

I must admit I saw a DVD on RH Waters years ago, and I never really got interested in the place. There are some waters that fire the imagination The Mere isn't one of them that fires mine.

My problem is they cater to new / or what I'd call less passionate anglers. And not the ones who love a bit of history and the mystery of finding out what's in the lakes.
Big pale things that grow well to fast. Not even a nice shape. I get there's a market for it but dig holes and fill it for all I care. Just don't ruin old stunning waters.

Just going for a social. Not normally the type I fish. Not going for a pb either as that ain't going to happen there. Was just seeing if anyone had fished it

Wrong forum here mate. As you've found, you'll only get replies from ‘pukka' carpers who sit on a 500 acre pit for one bite every 10 years, anything else is cheating for wrong ‘uns.
The recent Nash podcast with RH was interesting and it sounds like it'll be a well run fishery with plenty of bites to be had, ideal for a social which is exactly where he's pitching it.
