Hi all, looking at upgrading my rods and been looking at the 9ft scope 3.5 or the 3.25
Looking for something which I could get a solid back out or even cast a 4oz lead upto 100 yards.
How stiff are then 3.5 compared to the 3.25 is there a massive difference? Thanks Brad

Imho if you need to get 100 yards you want to be looking at 12 footers.

I been getting 70 yards with a 3lb tc Daiwa crosscast ext 10ft so I think with a stiffer rod il get to 100 yards

I agree it's possible but why make it hard for yourself mate? Just get some bigger rods and make 100 a flick rather than beefing up to the stiffest short rods that are awful to play fish on and you'll still struggle to get there.
Edit: for me a 9ft 3.5 will give very little benefit (in terms of range) over a 10ft 3 as you lose the length.

True mate, this is i find retractable easier to transport and store.. il maybe stick to 10ft I don't want to have anything longer to be honest. I've always used short rods

also depends on the reel you pair it with..reckon on 9ft 3.25lb TC scope with a big pit reel its achievable although personally i would lool at 10ft ers.. i have 10ft 3lb scopes and ss2600s up to 80 yards is fine for me beyond that i start struggling .. thats with 12lb mainline.

Strange as I was told you'd struggle to hit that distance with your 12ft6inch aviators and posh reels.

I've just bought 2 Tacklebox cfx 10ft 3.25tc they will be paired with okuma inc6000 il see how I get on, Peter at Tacklebox very helpful he knows his stuff

The 3.5 scopes are broomhandles
3.25 are much more forgiving
I had the 3.5 but they were no fun to play fish on

They've got short handles, so you'll struggle more than with a scope.

I looked at the measurements there's 3 inches difference not a huge amount in it
