You'll get loads of recommendations for cheap ones but I personally buy primus for gas cylinder stoves. Never ever had any problem that was insurmountable.

Ok I'll start with the cheap recommendations then. The Bulin T4. Had one for years and had zero issues with it, plus it packs down pretty small, has a preheater tube and is fairly stable. Bargain at less than twenty five quid normally.

If on budget then bulin t4 if you're not Primus easy fuel 2.I have had my primus years and it's never let me down or had a service

There was a raft of people online on bookface saying theres are failing etc. at the end of the day its a pass produced chinese stove, same as the trakker and carplife one i believe, I'd sooner have a primus for life or petrol coleman

Had mine a similar time, I took apart to clean once just for something to do. Yes the t4 is mass produced, but it's the “original” version of it. Without a trakker or whatever other logo and carp tax applied.
Whether there's been a change in quality recently I'm not sure but my mate got one two years ago and it's been fine for him.

The way I see it you have TWO ! options
1st
cheap BULIN T4 stove great stove will work all year round but dont expect years of life ! you get what you pay for

Not used gas for years but have a coleman sportster petrol stove which is great. A full tank does a weekend and the heat from it is far superior to gas so it boils the kettle far quicker. They are expensive initially but the only thing that goes wrong with them is generator problems but I have a spare one in my bag along with pliers and can change one in a few mins if needed. You usually get 2-3 years off one generator.

I've had my primus gravity stove for a good few years now...been excellent all the way through...

I binned my Coleman petrol stove about 15 years ago and although they won't get much love on here, I've been using a cheap gas canister stove with the pound gas cartridges. I only recently retired the first one and paid £15 for its replacement. Despite all the negative publicity these stoves get I've never had a problem in all weathers and wouldn't personally use anything else.
Its probably the only bit of "chavvy" equipment that I own but I love it, and if something isn't broken 🤪🤣🤣🤣

Me to got rid of my petrol Coleman to much messing around filling always got petrol everywhere and and pumping to get pressure was recommended a better grade petrol which I had to drive miles to get i also didn't like the flare up when you light it I use a jetboil I don't think there's anything that boils water quicker brilliant stove and everything fits in the pot inc gas can

I guess the most reliable stove or system has to be a Trangia in 27 or 25 guise.
There is no moving parts to fail or go wrong ,you can use Meths,Bioethanol,Gel,or even set it up if you want to run on gas or gravity fed systems..
I used mine last night ,in gale force easterly winds ,never missed a beat,I've had it many years
Remember it's a system ,not just a stove...in my very ,very humble opinion they take a beating ,and take some beating,also as I said I've used em inside my house,shed ,various tents and carp bivvies,I would NOT recommend the mini 28 t as its easily upended and you can't use it on a ground sheet ,the others 27 and 25 ,you can..
The suitcase stoves rig demon mentions,I also have some for a SHTF ,situation,also the never have let me down,as long as you don't put a massive hot pan over the canister housing.
Everyone should have alternative means of cooking and heating,especially right now....its why I would never live in property without a chimney,..
