So the last 6 months ive been making my own bait and hook baits and deffinitly had a couple failures on the way 😂. I do feel now though ive got a couple of things in happy to go into the season with.

If im making my own bait i do it partly for the added joy of catching on my own bait and striving to make a better bait than an average £10 per kg and £5 pot of hook baits. Its not just for saving cash although i do understand people do it for this reason aswell.

The more i get into it the more i realise the combinations and ingredients are endless!!

Has anybody got any particular flavours they love and where do you get the from as they are definitly not all equal. Im after a cream and a peach flavour myself at the moment.

Im also interested in what essential oils and acids people like to use. Im only recently startong to get into acids so any information on this would be great👍🏻👍🏻

You don't really need to look further than John Baker. All the hard work done , years and years of fine tuning . Anyone who starts out thinking making your own bait saves money often finds out otherwise . Can't beat home made of done right.

Peach Melba from Premier Baits has caught a few over the years.
John Baker Dairy Cream.

Scopex if you can find a reputable source.
Oils4life is a good place to start for essential oils.

I wouldn't get to hung up on certain flavour profiles. The best baits in my opinion start and finish with the main powders and would not require the addition of extra flavours. I'm far from an expert but over the last few years I've played around a fair bit with certain things. I've noticed that flavours in a long term bait have very little noticeable difference on catch rate. If your looking for a short term bait almost acting as a lure then I would be more inclined to use a flavour.

But as mentioned JB is the one for flavours he has recently added a peach to his range that may be of interest to you.

I'll answer the specific question re cream flavours, three products I know work very very well are

Scopex from Nash baits, you might struggle to find this as its discontinued but you might find a bottle ot two.
Condensed milk by mainline
Buttercream from Biologic baits

I've been specific because I've tried enough alternative suppliers to know effectiveness can vary massively from one supplier to the next and these three stand out.

I've never used a peach flavour but if I was to I'd start with the peach melba from Premier baits.

Bait Bro's Cornish Cream EA is 😍

I use it alongside Garlic EO in a bait I'm playing around with. Initial results are good.....

Thanks for the help guys. I thought J.B would be a top pick i have the ala salar and plum and they are very good.

Also interested in the peach melba and a couple of the creams mentioned. Ive had some flavours off biologic before and found them really good.

Interested in the bait bros aswell. Ive been looking at a couple of theres but no body had any feed back for me.

Cinnamon Essential Oil and Peach Flavour. Used on a food bait for long term results.
I did use Nutrabaits Peach, but after Bill Cottam left stopped and went to the latest Rod Hutchinson flavours.

Rod Hutchinson Mega Spice and Verselle Laga Garlic Oil are my homemade boosted pop-ups. Used that for many years.

If you listen to the podcasts, they do have a vague idea of how to put a flavour together!
Its worth talking to them, they're better placed to know what's best to combine with theirs.

Bait bros flavours are extremely potent so the levels will be minute. Makes them more affordable. The strawbamo is being tried but too soon to give any conclusions.

If the OP wants some samples I'll happily send you some if you cover postage (£3.60).
I have been sending out samples for free but it gets pricey!

Carp Chronicles

PS I haven't used Johns Peach but having talking to him about it quite a bit I'd definitely give it a go.
He's put a lot of effort into it. His Butringer flavour is good for a cream aspect but of course I'd choose our Cream Dream or Cornish Cream over that because I'm heavily biased

if that would be ok then ill definitely take you up on that offer. to be honest I've been learning a lot about making my bait whilst listening to you pissed on the podcast .

if I send you a P.M could I also grab a bottle of the Cornish Cream and combine the postage?

ill give Johns Peach ago then by a lot of peoples recommendations. I already use a couple of flavours so im definitely happy with his standard.
