Hi - I have. 2018 rt4 and want to get another of the large purple battery's for it, but carplounge have no stock and none coming in in the near future.
Any RT4 owners sourced similar from elsewhere and can recommend?
Or anybody have a mint one they want to move on ?

get the 20000ah lipo from hobbyking i got mine for 90 in a flash sale but they are generally around 105 .All my pals have them .Had posts removed from cl pages with people saying it will void warranty .How the hell would they know its just the company and its bum lickers trying to get you to pay massive carp tax .Nothing up with lipos been using them for 6 years with rt4s no problem.Will try and find link for you

LiPo batteries are dodgy. Even if you're very careful with charging and discharging, they still have a habit of catching fire.
Had several go up on me for no reason. Always meticulously looked after them, still the magic smoke. Just because you've been okay with them so far, don't be lulled into thinking they'll always be good.
Li-ion batteries are much more stable and predictable.

If you have had several LiPo fires it would suggest an issue with care, storage or charging. They are not fool proof, but also not ‘dodgy' if looked after properly.
There are millions and millions of LiPo batteries out there that have never cause anyone trouble. What were the several batteries that spontaneously combusted on you used for?

Well you're suggesting would be wrong. It's a well known phenomenon that these batteries are dicey.
What could one do wrong with using a decent balancing charger, batteries stored correctly, and then for no reason, after correct usage they puff up and start smoking? It happens.

If you look at the RC market they are pretty much ubiquitous for radio controlled aircraft and drones due to their weight.
Theirs no doubt they need to be looked after and stored when not in use safely.
Another downside is lifespan is shorter as less charge cycles..
You just have to weigh up the pros and cons.

Scaremongering garbage any battery can blow .Friend of mine has been racing model cars for years at competition level and they all use these exact batteries .They wouldn't be allowed if they were that dangerous .Just don't be stupid with them and they are fine I don't exactly throw mine about but I certainly don't fart about with them Charge just the same as the cl batts.You will find videos of every battery type blowing up if you look .There is nothing up with lipo battery s hadine years

For starters that video is obviously staged.
I'm not denying that they can go, I'm saying the vast majority of LiPo batteries will be perfectly fine if looked after properly. They are not inherently dangerous in the same way that filling your car with petrol is not.
You must have been extremely unlucky to have several spontaneously combust. What were they being used for?

Agreed with most of what has been said regards Lipo's being generally ok.
What I would say is that Li Ion batteries are just that bit lighter and most have BMS which then makes them easier to charge and protected than standard lipo's that need properly Decent quality balance charging with a quality charger not the dodgy copy cheapo ones.
I think saying all Lipos go on fire is a bit pessimistic most lipos would be fine but Li Ion 18650 cells are defo overall safer IMO and less prone to issues.
Worth paying a little bit more IMO and get AL technologies ones.

Thinking back, last year, a neighbor of mine who works for a big outfit using drones on the daily had one of his LiPo batteries go up whilst he was at home watching something with his kids. As far as I can remember it wasn't on charge.
