How has this not been developed sooner... I won't be rushing out to buy them as I have enough lead clips for all situations but it looks a decent invention.

They remind me very much of the MCF dumper lead clips.

I see a lot of comments saying what a great invention. But I can't really see any use for it myself? Isn't this just a version of pushing the tail rubber on a bit tighter?

2 years in development.. another way to dump toxic metal in water, yay

Mcf have done one almost the same for years.

Not too sure about the exposed wire being close to the fish. Surely that could cause damage very easily? Two years in the making is due to shopping delays surely.

They've already burnt down one bivvy.

Am I correct in thinking this clip is either fully on or fully off. I like to set the clip so the lead will come off if the fish goes through a weedbed, but won't come off in snag free areas.

It seems that way, but maybe the tension in the wire prevents the lead dropping until the carp shakes its head or runs into weed.
Like you, i like to be able to adjust the setting of my clip using the swivel tension and adjustment of the rail rubber. This is done by adding a loop of 15lb mono to tighten the swivel into the clip, or even locking it fully in place if i want the lead to drop.
In open water i like the swivel to be semi fixed, and a good shake of the head will separate the swivel and clip and it then becomes a running lead.
