Probably old news to many of you, but as someone who's been keeping one eye on prices for a new bivvy there's a few points I wanted to raise about Trakker bivvies...
It seems to me that, not satisfied with making a overly complicated product line-up (see January 2020 YouTube video they published entitled "Choosing the Right Trakker Tempest Bivvy or Brolly for Your Carp Fishing"), the boys at Trakker have done it again by introducing a new all-singing-all-dancing fabric called Aquatexx EV (TM).
I don't know what this will do to the previous line up and current distributed stock. I'd be pretty annoyed if I went into a tackle store today and picked up the previous incarnation.
I've been looking out for a Tempest Advanced 150 in particular and the stock is limited and the pricing seems very haphazard. I'll be honest though, until I see one on a good offer I won't be paying the full price which is ridiculous when you factor in a skull cap.
Lastly, I'm losing my faith in humanity when I see online retailers hiking their prices up 3 or 4 times the standard RRP. My wife asked whether eBay item 174505342498 was what I wanted for my birthday but at £3,000 I said the seller could go jump. She queried this with the seller (Dan Brydon, Wensum Valley Angling, Norwich) to be told "Thought I'd see if anyone would buy it at that price"... if ever there's an obvious red flag not to buy from a company that would be it for me.

I think they were pulling her leg. If you do a search and look at pireces high to low you'll usually find a fair few which are riduculous. I asked one if the item was available and they said no, the reason for the high price was to keep the listing active...for whatever reason.

eBay sellers normally hike the price when they are out of stock of that item reduce it when they come back in stock saves relisting it . if you want the advanced 150 why not look at the cyprinus typhoon max head height I've just ordered one of the cyprinus site for £480 that's was the offer I put in and they excepted it

I totally agree with you there all trying it on with a lot of things to see if they sell people don't realise that other companies are watching
and if they do sell they hike there's up only one person to blame is the buyer the trakker bivvy you mentioned have you seen the price absolutely frightening
as someone said on here few weeks ago carp fishing has had it there thinking of selling up I can see why

Apple are the same, I've looked at watching Star Wars during the last couple of weeks and the to buy price was £4 so to was Empire strikes Back. Looked at these again the other night and bang £13.99 each. Welcome to the digital age of being shafted.
I paid a lot for my aqua pioneer (first model), but after 16 years i think it's money well spend !

I agree It's not just Aqua a trakker it's the whole of carp fishing prices of season tickets everyone's got a waiting list it's all a rip off there's a few companies that are trying hard to give value esp Gardner speero for example
There is two much demand so they can get away with it

You're right about chairs mate, bought a Trakker Transformer Chair for £90 in the back end of 2019 for £90. Today, 18 months later, cheapest new one on ebay is £115.
It's not just chairs though. About 4 years ago, I bought a set of 3 x Mitchell Avocast 7000 reels for £111, think it was a 3 for 2 deal. They're now £65 each.
Nowadays, I just look around for good deals. Terminal tackle wise, I use Bank Tackle or just started using Mosquito. For hooks I look for good deals from reputable manufactures, just got 4 packs of Gardner Muggas for under a tenner. And boilies I get in the sales. So you can do it "on the cheap", but it's still an expensive hobby!!

Gone up by £25 with all the shortages/supply probs/etc around at the moment? Reels that were but 2 get one free (so £55 each) now £65 and the offers ended? Not exactly the crime of the century is it. I take it no one has raised prices/asked for a payrise in whatever they do in the last 2 years? And besides, its a sellers market, glad people are able to recover after the last year or so. Buy it or don't 🤷🏻♀️

I am struggling to get my head around the recent big price hikes on tempests from Trakker. I bought a tempest composite for £260 last year. Apart from the additional vents and removable front, I can't see that much difference between it and the now £1000 new tempest.

Obviously, if you buy a £500 reel it isn't going to fall to pieces in a couple sessions but the cheaper reels of yesterday would normally be much better for the price. Seems like the 'get what you pay for' isn't as relevant nowadays. Obviously some exceptions but I think its more about making the product for as little money as possible, and then selling it at as high as possible.
