The Wharf in Cardiff have now recorded 38 fish over 30lb, this got me and my cousin talking regarding how many other venues in Wales hold 30's, we chalked up; Lamby lake, The Birch, White Springs, Celtic Lakes and maybe Roath park?
Other than the Wharf these venues hold a handful between them which brings us to, how many known 30's are there in WLes (guessing there are a few secret ones) but it can't be many over 50 fish.

Cefn Mably has a few now as well. Know of one in a small syndicate up in the valleys that I am a member of as well. There is a new lake over West Wales due to open, can't remember the name of it, but that has been slowly stocked over the last few years and I am pretty certain it will be opening with a ready stock of 30s. So whilst still not that many in comparison to across the border there are a decent scattering around

I'd suggest a lot more than 50 fish, one of my syndicates is in wales and its only a small lake..it has over 6 known 30's and quiet a few which are pushing the 30 mark....

What about Commonwood and that place that's quite high up (sorry for the vague description)? Don't they have 30's in?

There is one lake up north with around 20 x 30's in, up to 37. Plus a couple more waters that are
with more in

I must admit I am totally clueless as to what fishing is available in North Wales.
Obviously more venues holding 30's than I appreciated though.

Again a bit niave to what is about up north.
Also forgot about Llyn Cae-Ty-Nant - good few thirties there.

There's another syndicate not far away from that one that had at least 20 thirties in as well. There's loads of big fish in North Wales and has been for decades. Publicity bans are the reason not many know about them, that and people being a bit less likely to shout their mouth off about them.

What syndicate is that? Wasn't aware of there being a 50lb'er up north, or anywhere else in Wales.
Guessing it's no publicity as the Roath 48lb common was the 'Welsh Record'.

Yeah its on an industrial estate in North Wales near the Dee estuary. The biggun that was called quazi is dead now but I think it got upto 54lb ish, there's still an mid/upper forty I think and loads coming through. The lads keep it very quiet as they should.

Yeah it'll be the same one by the sounds of it with the rule book. I know a few lads with tickets and they seem to like it there. The amount of fish in the waters over 30lb is ridiculous. A syndicate in Rhyl has a silly number of 30+ and will do a 40 soon if it hasn't already. Plus a syndicate near where the a483 meets the a5. That's done a 40 or two and has a fair few mid 30s in.
The river Dee has been throwing up 30s for a few years now and I hear there's a few stretches with fish of that size now.
