I was wondering if there is an alternative option to sleeping on a bedchair when fishing overnight. Do any of you do it a different way. Perhaps with a SIM

I've been thinking the same thing for years... is there an alternative to lugging around these cumbersome bedchairs.
Apart from inflatable beds the obvious option is waiting for someone to design a carbon fibre bedchair or similar, OR... a relatively small, lightweight and easy to assemble hammock on a frame. I'm not aware of anyone having come up with those yet though.
I do have a van with a memory foam mattress but that's reliant on swims with vehicle access.

It would be good if they did come up with something but all I can see at the minute is a inflatable bed the only other option

Thermarest do an ultralite cot, obvs very light but low to the ground, it as to be assembled and needs a sim or air mattress to stop heat oss from the underneath, oh and they are expensive. Alternatively try a US military folding cot, heavy but folds down small, again needs a sim etc but aren't overly large. Cheapish though.
I've spent hundreds of nights sleeping on the ground using various matts, from the cheapest to the most insulated/padded and expensive, trust me it's a means to an end, ie only just better than sleeping on the floor, exhaustion usually sees you sleep well but you'll feel it in the morning!! I'd guess you are only young? And could probably sleep on a plank, but I'd look at a cheap, light and secondhand bedchair personally, you'll thank me when you're older and your backs not shot to pieces like a lot on here will be from sleeping on sun loungers in their youth etc

AeroBed Pakmat air mattress is what I used to use. Very comfortable but low down. Comes in its own tube which doubles up as the pump.

Helinox is another company that do ultralight 'cots'..you can buy them,or extension legs that raise you much higher off of the ground..
I predict,that in the future,bedchairs will be next to get the ultralight treatment,it can be done..
I use a Thermarest venture sim, on a avid RT,bedchair,I prefer the handwheel as you can use the bedchair as a daychair,oldskool..stylee..

Well, nowadays I wouldn't trade it with my bedchair. But I sure did spend some nights and afternoons on it

Something like this would work pretty well. Never used one so can't comment on comfort. Surprised a tackle company hasn't tried this. I guess wouldn't be very fashionable in carp fishing.
