I recently bought two Okuma Custom Black Reel Cb-60 3+1bb Reels for my 10ft rods.
Decided to buy another one as they seem really good reels I paid £39 each now they take gone up to £49 each...

I bought one of them last year for £45. Tbh everywhere is selling them for £48-55 so you probably got them when stock was good

Your find it's not just total fishing tackle that have put the prices it sadly tackle manufacturers are putting the prices up so the tackle shops are just having to do the same

The main issue is shipping costs, I read in the paper today that shipping costs have gone from £1200 per container to £7000 - £8000 per container, so the public will end up picking up the additional costs through increased pricing.

7-8 is cheap some people are being quoted 10 grand for a container

Yeah, my local tackle shop got a message from Nash the other day saying their prices were being raised 6% or 7% (can't remember which) across the board. I'm sure every other company is going to have to do similar.
The problem may be, if the container issue gets sorted along with issues, I wonder how long it will take for prices to come back down? Or will they?

Shipping costs may come down but price of the tackle won't. Companies are more than happy and quick enough to pass on any extra costs incurred but not so fussed about passing on any savings

I don't know the exact reason why, but i work in construction and steel prices have risen 30% from the start of the year..... and i suspect this will rise again in Q3 as there is now a serious shortage of steel

Do we need to buy as much tackle as we do? Fair enough if it's essentials but otherwise as long as we keep on buying they will keep on passing on the increases to us rather than absorb some of it themselves.
