Would you drop someone in it? Just saying, but there's people night fishing a syndicate water just up the road from me. Been bivvies on there all the way through lockdown... 3 on there setting up as I walked past the lake as the light was fading this evening...

Funny how, in the November lockdown that you were allowed to night fish, even though the law said you weren't allowed to stay away from your home overnight, to now, not allowed to night fish, with the law stating exactly the same

I no of a syndicate near me who has basically “employed” all there members as bailiffs so they can still go and fish, obviously they don't get paid or any thing but still get to finish and they have been all the way through

Night fishing Furzton when the rules are what they are is deserving of the fines for such stupidity, if one is so hellbent on breaking rules then at least be smart about it. I know of a couple of local syndicates that have also allowed members to fish overnight under the "bailiff/fisheries management" thing. Would I report it? Absolutely not, I've no right or interest to interfere with other people's desire or business. It doesn't particularly bother me either, it's not as if fish are crawling up the lines on the hard waters I fish anyway at the moment!

The November lockdown was different to this one as you were allowed unlimited outside “exercise” which was fishing included and this lockdown it's limited outdoors “exercise”

That's the issue limited to what? 23 hours? 2 hours? You can quite easily do a night in under 12 hours. So if in both lockdowns staying away from home overnight is prohibited, then what law has actually changed?

Don't think in the second lockdown there was anything saying you couldn't stay away from home overnight? But the first and latest lockdown there is that's why night fishing isn't allowed

Definitely was, the angling trust used an excuse of because you were fishing, you wasnt technically camping, and therefore a legitimate reason to be away from your home overnight. Except we all know that 99% of anglers who fish overnight will be effectively camping

agreed - and too many people saying it's ok
how about this...?
if they were breaking syndicate rules - smoking weed / using tackle that was banned / taking fish for the pot / whatever.... would you shop them then?

I'm not saying it ok, just trying to understand the rationale behind it. I mean you can rock up to a lake during the day for 10 hours cast, out have a kip, wind in and that is perfectly ok, do the same at night, and suddenly it's an issue? Obviously staying away from your home overnight is probably the main one, but, it was exactly the same as the November lockdown.
