It appears during the Firsrt lockdown a Few Syndicates applied for buisness support Grant's of the Goverment. Some of the Syndicates done the right thing and passed some of this money on to there members for loss of fishing. The Linch hill syndicate was apparently one of them. Anyone on here recieved any kind of rebate on there fishing or not as the case may be. 
My place is extending memberships rather than reimbursing. I'm moving on to a new ticket this year so probably won't make the use of it, but I appreciate the thought.
unfortunately for me ill have to write last year off as a loss with 3 sessions 2 runs and no fish but 3 ducks 
the syndicate im a member of is very small so its just a small price to pay for the peace and tranquility i can get when i can get away a fish is just a bonus in the current climate to me as escaping it all is great.

Tbh I think all the lakes are suffering enough already, I haven't even asked for my money back on my two syndicates, just going to right it off and let them keep it. I'll be renewing in may so hopefully be better this year.
My syndicate got a refund of the landowner for that years rent...as we only a small syndicate of 10 we have kept the money in the bank so to speak and hopefully we will be able to use the money to for future purchases / upkeep etc...

my new syndicate, unable to fish for 3 months last year with lockdown even though bailiffs were, rammed all summer and autumn to the extent i could'nt even get into the carpark on 3 occasions, and now again shut for nights. No rebates, and fees going up in April, no thanks!

Apparently according to the Carp cast. On the reverse a few Syndicate owners have been binning these Grant's. And not passing on any kind of refund to the angler for lost fishing. Effectively being paid twice. 
My syndicate has already extended memberships to cover loss of fishing during both of last year's lockdowns, and has announced that it will be doing the same again at the end of the current one. Can't say fairer than that - appreciated!

I don't see how any true syndicate can be eligible for a government grant, as they aren't run for profit. Day ticket, or glorified limited members pay lake, then maybe, as they are businesses.

My syndicate hasn't said anything about refunds, we paid as normal last year and that was just after the first lockdown started. When it did re-open it was stupidly busy so getting on the fish was a problem and now I can't go because it's not local so I can't travel there. I dont know if they'll offer a refund or an extension but I wouldn't expect them to.

Can't see it myself Toddy. Makes you laugh people saying I'm not asking for my money back from the syndicate, who do they think is going to reimburse them

Neither of my 'syndicate' tickets have offered refunds, nor would I expect or ask them to tbh.
Renewals on both have gone up (in line with fishery plans), so have no issue with that either.

Let's be honest, most syndicates are nothing but pay lakes where the owner/leaseholder runs a water to make a profit. In essence you are paying for the privilege to angle for their fish for a season. Unfortunately this year due to no fault of anyone this hasn't been possible. The principle in my opinion is that members should be reimbursed or offered an extension of time. How many members on here have gym memberships that they would/have happily kept on paying without having access throughout lockdowns? I appreciate that this could ruin some fisheries so the decent thing is to offer a compromise, half the time and reimburse that, either financially or extension of ticket (bet you wouldn't accept that at your gym?).
Carp waters hold people ransom in the knowledge that many members will want to rejoin so won't rock the boat.
My own ‘syndicate' was shut for the first lockdown, often rammed throughout the summer, and is now closed to deter people from breaking the fish local advice. Very interested to hear that there is the possibility they have received a grant also.

The only way I could see a government grant being suitable, is if the water in question is a business that supports someone's livelihood, and their income has been impacted negatively by current restrictions. Conversely, and by very definition, a true syndicate supports itself, and is not run for profit.
Most of the time, it's deluded fishery owners advertising and turning a pound coin by using the magic word “syndicate” to attract members...
It's a limited members glorified pay lake, from which money is made. (Plenty of which are no doubt excellent venues but be under no illusions as to the financial aspect.) And therefore I want my money back, or an extension of the right to fish... Which yes, under the circumstances where someone has made money and applied for a government grant, is more understandable... In effect though, it's tax payer supported fishing tickets... Whatever next, full time dole sponsored anglers..? 🤣

Some of the best anglers I've ever met were on the dole 😉.
Funny thing is syndicates I remember forming were set up to get away from rules and stocking policy that made carp angling restrictive. Reducing the cost of your and your mates angling long term was a benefit.
Snobbery in all walks of life though mate and it comands £'s.
