Hi, I've just got a set of 10ft rods, my Daiwa sportsmatics are way too big/heavy for them , so what would you suggest, around the mid price range please, thanks.

I personally think the mini pit 5500 size reels are too big on 10ft or less rods
5500 mini pit are ideal for 9/10 ft rods, 5500 XTD is 500 gram with Ice ,CT orTeflon washers and your set.
Daiwa castizms would be my choice

Definitely agree and would go further.
I much prefer a 4000 series reel on my 10 fts. Even smaller if I use one for floater fishing.
My 10 ft rods weigh 200 g and feel right with 220g or 350 g reels. Out of interest I did try bigger, heavier reels on them and it spoilt their precise feel.
Each to their own though.

I would agree if budget was no object, but the way the original post reads to me, the poster doesn't want to spend that sort of money.

Your right, although theres been some great suggestions I am on a budget, my 2 x 10 ft 3.25lbtc & 1 x 3.5lbtc rods are the Tfgear GXI Stealths, which I only bought because they were £95 brand new including postage , they are usually £55 each so a bargain and I have to admit that Im very impressed with there build and quality, although I havent used them yet.
Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll keep my eye out for some secondhand reels of the ones mentioned. I prefer a baitrunner function, but not essential
