Not done much fishing for the last 10 years I'm after a new main line,currently have 20lb xline on my spools but I've seen there are so many new mono,braids,fluro's etc out now...what's the current trend ?

Daiwa Sensor for me, cheap and cheerful, I've used it for years without any problem. In 15lb for general carp fishing, 12lb for fishing at range and 20lb for catfish.
It's about a tenner for a bulk spool, I go for the dark one.

totally agree with this , one of the best lines I have used normally go for the 18lb version as not casting far and its like tow rope.

You'll get 101 different answers on this. Here's another for you - Korda Subline, I love it. Very low memory for a mono, casts well, good abrasion resistance and reasonably low stretch for a mono. I use it 15lb and it has been faultless. Was a Dawia Sensor man for many years, but the Korda line is simply better and yes, I have tried quite a few being named here, but none were as good. Not that it makes any difference, but I use the green and also have 12lb loaded with leaders for distance work. Best mono on the market IMO.
