I'm sure I've heard this somewhere before......... if you've over glugged a pop up can you microwave them to give them a little more buoyancy. Sounds crazy and I doubt it does anything but I thought I would ask.

This is probably correct, but haven't tested it. In the good old days when you couldn't buy tubs of pop ups, we used to microwave freezer boilies to make them into pop ups. Guess it takes all the moisture out and makes them lighter.

Yes , thinking about it I'm not what you would say old either, but back then I surpose mid to early 90ts there was not many pots of pop ups that I can remember Ritchworth maybe or maybe the fact I could not afford them , bait making at home rolling every individual ball ,takes me back ,sort of shows how carp fishing as grown up in so little time .

Put a cocktail stick through them and it means you can get them rock hard without breaking baiting needles - it also seals the hole when they cook.
Or if tying on, score a groove around them for the floss to sit in.

The frying pan method works better than the microwave as you have more control !!
It's how I used to make them years ago, as said short bursts 10 - 15 seconds.
My old SBS Strawberry Jam ones smelt lovely.

Cheers lads, really appreciate the advice. I stupidly buy pop ups and tend to over glug them every time 👎🏻
I'm hoping I can save a few tubs by microwaving them to dry them out a little.

Depends on the glug, I have found stuff like goo's and other really thick liquids are a bugger to re dry out but the microwave method may work. If you used a thinner booster type liquid which was fully absorbed will work a treat!!
Like others this takes me back from to the mid 90's although I was only 6 I was fishing obsessed and my dad and I would stink out mums kitchen making boilies, and then microwave some for pop ups nothing gets the smell of microwaved mainline liver and marine base mix with salmon and shrimp flavour added out

If they are over flights and sink quicker wouldn't that turn them into a wafter ?
