Any recommendations for a decent cool bag that will keep food cool over night even in summer? I'm not expecting miracles from a bag but the Trakker one I have at the moment is next to useless in terms of insulation.

Don't waste your time looking at fishing branded stuff.
The best I have seen / used is without doubt is the Titan Deep Freeze range. Not carpy, but fit for purpose!

depends how big you want it ?
but Costco ones are very good indeed its what I use a lot Keeps Ice up to 2 Days
or a bit smaller are the Thermos ones on Amazon a friend uses one

I gave up with bags and use a coleman xtreme 28ltr,cool box fill it with ice bags and it'll keep the ice for a couple of days.
Ice cold beers and no rancid food , Its a large item tho!

Depends on what I'm taking and how hot it is, but for just myself for upto 48hrs its either my Stanley 15L coolbox, or my Aqua modular cool bag. Aqua do a deluxe one in the same range - its slightly smaller but has more insulation - might be worth a look.
If you can get hold of one the stanley coolbox is just the right size for upto 48hrs and keeps stuff frozen. Also doubles up as a nice bivvy table as it has a recess on top - and its green if that's a biggy for you.

Had the small and large ESP cool bags. Just put an ice block on top of everything and my food and drink is always cool and fresh.
Coleman extreme 100qt. Should fit on the roof rack.

I've just got a £20 one from Amazon that seems decent, off for a 72hr session tomorrow so I'll report back on how it does.

. . .my old coleman soft bag had mice holes in it after it was retrieved from the depths of my garage so bit the bullet and bought my first ever carp tax cool bag - went for the Thinking Anglers one in standard green which was £25ish . . .
Foil thermo lining is nice and thick, has an external pocket with internal loops for cutlery / t-kit but also flanking mesh pockets for other stuff (pasta/dried food/tins of tuna etc) Internally has straps to keep drinks/cans upright. Fits perfectly in my main holdall so all in all a nice product and perfect for 24-48hrs sessions. . .

Aldi's did a great back that I've had for 5 years only bettered by the wychwood cool bag in quality which was much larger.
Tend to use the Aldi's bag for night sessions and my moded cool box for two.

Good question as I was going to ask the same. Sounds like a thermo type cool bag is ideal. Agree with other comments to avoid fishing brands as it just has a 50-150% increase in price.
