I'm a long time Shimano technium Black user . It's a great line without a doubt . Although from experience I think it sinks well but was wondering whether any flouro would give me any advantages over the technium. Perhaps superior sinking properties. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks 👍
Exactly my musings too, love the tech black but do wonder about swapping to a Fluoro if I am lucky enough to get a ticket for my chosen water this year, it's quite small with longest range approx 90yrd but does get weedy so would Fluoro be a good choice??
Fluro will definitely sink better than technium. If lake is weedy that probably isn't a benefit though.
I would fish braid in weed if it's allowed, otherwise technium would be a better choice. not a great casting line but still casts considerablely better than fluoro.

Much will depend on the waters and way you fish.
I was using 20lb Xline for my edge fishing for years but a return to mono with small pieces of putty up the line was more effective for me.

I use 12lb technium and a 20lb xline leader. Works for me.

Thanks for the input . It can get get weedy in the summer in places . A lot of the lads seem to use fluoro but I've been happy with the way technium sinks . Not sure however if fluoro would just be a little better . My gut feeling tells me to stick with what I know but if fluoro gives me something extra I'd change , cheers 👍

I wouldn't personally use fluoro in weedy conditions. No advantage in line lay and it can really bed down and be difficult or even impossible to retrieve.

Flouro terrible for casting and terrible in weed.
But sinks fast and has no stretch.
Fishimg a lake with with no weed and a flat bottom at med to short range then flouro makes sense. At Lon range, in weed or over bars then stick with Tech.
