Going to use particles with some added rock salt....

What sort of salt levels would you use per kg of bait?

Thanks in advanced

The only salt I've added to any ground bait was the brine from a tin of hot dogs.
Carp certainly were attracted to where tins were drained so I've sometimes added the brine to my bait rather than tip it away.
Can't really help with salt quantities and no doubt the attraction I witnessed would have had an element of flavour as well as the salt.

Hi Jeff

I'm currently using a lot of particle with no salt added, but I'm using heavily salted hook baits in conjunction and getting some fairly good results.
I've played about with salt levels a few times over the years and basically came to the conclusion that it's venue specific.

Best

Jon

Thanks Jon.....the idea around adding salt was to make it PVA friendly & if at all enhance bait

Terry hearn uses salted maize so there might be something attractive in adding it .

No need for it.
Particles work with just a soak and boil.

I use Sea Salt on my Hemp...after cooking I add it and not before as it stops it splitting. I chuck loads in and some oil to coat and it works great in PVA bags. Also I add plenty of it to soaked pellets and glugged Boilies .
