start with carpet on the floor to make it nice to be in there.

And heating with a music system,tv and a comfy chair

Metal cabinet inside that you can lock so it's locked in a cabinet locked in your garage.
I mean the big money items, rods reels alarms etc.

Rods stand in the corner in a quiver, with spare rods hanging from the roof joists. 6 bivvies are on shelves made from scaffold boards. All remaining gear on a barrow ready to go.
Nash rig station full of hooks, hooklinks and rig tying stuff. Got a illuminated magnifying glass on a stand to make the rig tying a bit easier. All on a bench with shelving unit holding all the stuff I couldn't possibly live without
Bait is either in the freezer or sealed buckets. Mouse traps strategically placed and baited with peanut butter.

Electric roller door (no other entrance door), connected to the house alarm along with a motion sensor.
I'm now wondering why I'm sitting here watching football when I could be in the garage fondling some Jag stainless

get down second hand office furniture shop get some large double metal lockers, full height, then you can close the doors on them to keep the place tidy and will also stop mice etc.... from having a munch

For storing rods on the wall I fixed some timber batten vertically and to that I screwed rectangular gutter brackets every foot or so. Works a treat.
Cost peanuts compared to a proprietary solution.

Argos do wall mounted bike racks that are good for rods, only 8 quid or so.

remember that mice can still get into a garage, nice and warm for them and fishing bait is lovely !!
In my garage I have Keter plastic storage boxes for my gear.
When I put them together is sealed the joins with silicone sealer.
Then they are Mouse proof.
My Rods are stored in a Keter high storage unit that looks like a double wardrobe.
