I have a summer bag, but need a bag for September, October and April, May, I don't fish the winter nights. Price not too much of an issue, Tia.
If money not an issue then the fortis techlite
I can't recommend one, but I would definitely not suggest the Gardner Compact Duvet.

I do those same months and I manage with a trakker big snooze and a thermal cover, all depends if your a cold person or not in the winter my central heating is only set at 17 and I'm fine (I'm 61)

I'm 67, yes I do feel the cold, would prefer a bag without needing a thermal cover tbh, just undecided wether I need a full on 5 season winter bag, or a so called 4 season.

You'll want the trakker 365 then mate ,way too warm for me , I'm sure a big snooze is rated as a 4 season

365 is a great bag but the winter liner is way too warm for the majority of the year. It’s fantastic on the coldest nights though

And me, it's a great bag and as a 68yr old who doesn't do nights in the dead of winter it is perfect.

I also like my Gardner Compact . . .roomy, comfy (especially when you get the baffle removed) and warm enough - from a comfort perspective I prefer it to the Techlite but the Techlite takes precedence on my bedchair atm as its lighter and folds flat . . .

One of my main issues is that the zip has jammed on me at least three times, luckily not on a take.
That stupid baffle is obviously in the wrong place, it should be above you, not digging into your back. My guess is that they accepted a sample without properly checking it and ended up with a container full of them and don't want to admit their mistake.
Finally on just reasonably cold nights the zip area allows the cold in.
Definitely the worst sleeping bag I've ever bought 🙁

How about a Trakker 365? If it's a warm night you can sleep in the top layer but if it's getting colder use the bottom section. I've not had to use a sleeping bag cover since I bought mine.

Thanks for your replys, I have decided on a full 5 season bag, undecided between the 365 and the fox ventec ripstop atm

Can also highly recommend the fox ventec but can't compare with the other ones mentioned
ive got the gardner carp duvet, i found it cold nt the really cold nights,i had to have the baffle removed as it annoyed the hell out of me around the shoulder area. I found i had to put a cover on with the bag in the cold nights of spring and late autumn. its comfy to sleep in as i prefer smooth as apposed to fleece..
I also have the fox ventec as. for warmth the fox wins hands down, no competition...its comfy,warm , the bag pulls over your head if you want it to, its big enough to keep unzipped if you wish and use it like a quilt cover, zipped up with the inner leaf zipped in its soooo warm...i love this bag. one slight niggle, when the inner leaf is not zipped in you can sometimes feel the zip, thats me being ultra critical. for me I feel the cold, the fleece around the foot and head is nice . the sleeping bag is absolutely brilliant....but, theres always a but isnt there....it is big and bulky. it fits on my solar sp tech and closes even with the inner leaf in but it does bulge a little, for me its a slight trade off, i want to warm and comfy in the colder night and im certainly both in the fox ventec as.

Does it have to be a fishing branded sleeping bag? I use snugpak sleeping bags, they dont attach to bed chairs, but for warmth and weight, they beat the fishing branded ones hands down.

I use a Snugpak Techlite ,I remove the extra layer as I sleep warm
I also have ,and just stopped using a Snugpak softie 9 ,a great bag ,but not as good as the techlite ,mainly use it for bike camping ,but ultimately I bit the bullet and just got a Alpkit Pipedream 400 ,miniscule pack down size and as warm as the techlite ,it ain't cheap tho,that's for bushcrafting or bike camping
