As per title, anyone experienced both the above chairs ?
Looking for a new chair, comfort being the highest priority.
I am lewning towards the " sofa " style Armchair, although it is a tad heavier of the two.
I am thinking though that the Recliner might be a bit easier for me to haul my old bones up and out of and maybe a bit cooler in the hit weather that we have most if the year here in Louisiana.
That said, most of my fishing is in the cooler months, as the summer heat here is unbearable anyway.
So, any thoughts, pros/cons on these two chairs ?

The deluxe armchair is by far the best and comfiest chair ive ever owned. Ive never owned the recliner but ive sat in one and the armchair is much more comfy and more compact.

You wont regret it 👍🏻 They are great for keeping the wind out as well as no sides for wind to get in.

I had a solar sp c-tec before it and its miles more comfy than that and i really rated my solar chair.

I bought n solar sp-tech sofa chair. Best thing I ever did. Ultra comfy and it's so light that I actually take it when I go barbel fishing on the river.
I personally avoid anything fox or their sister companies. From experience their stuff is absolute garbage and doesn't last. I had a duralite chair that literally fell apart when I first sat in it.

In what way more comfy Stuart out of interest?
I find the Solar chair annoys the tendons/ligaments behind my knees and use it with a cushion as I find it a tad deep seating area wise, possibly the reason it annoys my t/l, the unpadded edge being right on them. With long term use I also find the padding on the arm rests isn't what it was either.
Don't get me wrong it's still a good chair. Nearly all carp chairs ever made have the same problem (for me), curved seat to back and this style chair I thought had solved that issue, only to throw another, sods law

It moulds to my butt and back much better than my solar chair. Hopefully the build quality is as good as it is comfy. I will probably never use mind so my wife will probably pinch it for her camping.

Solar are no better. My £500 solar universal pod started to rust. Since solar got sold out to the chinese ive seen no end of shoddy manufacturing issues with their latest bedchairs and their power barrows even have their own group on fb how crap they are. Ive had a few fox chairs over the years and never had any issues with any of them. I also had no issues with my sp c-tec bedchair and chair but they are a few years old so maybe its a new thing since they have been sold.

Thanks Stuart, much appreciated. I know what you mean re the wife, mines claimed ours, kind of glad really I'll try and see if I can have a sit in the Fox one somewhere. Only yesterday I was discussing that the only ones who innovate are Solar and potentially Korda/Korum. I wish someone else could set up instead of us being herded and drip fed

ðŸ‘🻠Still love jag and all ive got now for bankware. Not cheap but will last a lifetime and they keep bringing out new gear thats well thought out and extremely well made. They also superb if you do have a rare problem.

Just saw that solar are bringing out a 'worldwide' version of the sofa chair. I think the 'worldwide' range is the replacement of the old 'undercover' series.

I've got the worldwide and it's cost me a fortune, however I'm not really happy with it. Im looking for a Jag rp2 in stainless, they are out of stock everywhere. I've made enquiries and it seems Jag are making some modifications to the design before they make the next batch. If anyone has any info on the modifications, I would be interested to know about them as I'm seriously looking at getting one.

Solars bulid quality seems to of dropped off a cliff. All i see on social media is people having problem after problem. There has been two bedchair frames that ive seen that have snapped on the latest c-tec bed and solar dont respond.

Not good. Never had a problem with fox so hopefully never need to use them. Sacked the new frontier 2 off after seeing the problems and bought a tempest rs150 and cap as tft had a15% off code so couldnt resist.

Today I tried the Fox Super Deluxe Armchair against the same style chairs form Solar, Nash and Trakker at the Carp Den Bosch show and the Fox by far was the most comfortable. I bought one right after.

Bought a super deluxe armchair a week ago and used it for the first time today.
As per other posts, its pretty light for what it is and not really much bulkier than my current Solar SP recliner chair, just a touch wider when folded, but it really is very comfortable.
The most comfortable of any previous chairs I have owned
Being of the elder generation, it does take a bit of a push to get out of it (quickly) if needed.

😀 unfortunately thats one chair i will never be buying. I dont quite understand what they were thinking even bringing that thing out. I think most of there business is from european anglers these days and not UK anglers.

I just recieved my new Fox Super Deluxe Armchair. Lovely chair, but mine has to go back. The plastic plugs in the poles of the back rest, that rest on the poles that support the seat, are put in crooked (both sides) and I can't turn them in the correct position. This makes that these plugs put pressure to and pressing the plastic levers that make you set 3 different inclinations of the back rest, to the side. This will lead to a failure soon, I think.

So, if you buy one, make sure you check out this part. I will still go for one, as it's more comfy than my own sofa chair at home.

Checked mine just out of interest and the left side plug was on an angle like yours as well. Easy fix though as unscrewed the self tapper holding it in place and turned it till straight and screwed self tapper back in. Only took a couple of minutes to correct but it should of been right in the first place mind so the typical none existent quality control.

May I ask how you managed to turn it around, Stuart? I undid the screws and protected the plugs with a rubber cloth and then tried a set of pliers to turn them, but they were stuck solid and I didn't want to risk damage them, as the shop won't like that if I return the chair.

I tried the Trakker Colossus chair and the longback recliner chair, but both were much less comfortable than this Fox chair.

I wrapped a cloth around it mate and used some water pump pliers and set them to just smaller than the diameter of the plug. It did leave a little mark but turned to line it up.

Sorry to bring an old thread back but what are these sofa/arm chairs like in the summer now we've been through a fair few hot days over the last couple of summers. I've sat on the Fox one back in the winter in a shop and it was very comfy but the fact it wraps around you could in turn trap the heat a bit.

Been sitting on mine all this week in the heat, never noticed any difference in heat retention to any other chair I have or owned before.
It remains comfortable, even if it takes a bit more of a push to get out of it
