I have just bought a 2016 Citroen berlingo van and wondered what ramp would you guys recommend for wheeling the barrow in , thanks

I just use a motorbike loading ramp which folds into two.

I use that one as well. The little handles fell off within days but other than that it does the job perfectly well.

I use the same one linked to in post #2, it does the job fine. At first I thought it might be a bit narrow but it makes it easier to straddle the ramp as the barrow goes up. I use it with a powered barrow into a Shogun, so if you're using a powered barrow you might get away with something shorter with the boot floor being lower.

Some great suggestions there , thanks . Does anyone have issues with the underside of these ramps resting on and potentially damaging the rear bumper ? Also any suggestions for the type of straps to use to strap the barrow down , cheers ?

If you get the KCT one, replace the cheap bolts it comes with, with some high tensile ones.

Mine snapped the hinge bolt fairly quickly.

As Chuffys ramp, linked in his post, the 3 tabs that rest on the bumper have soft plastic sleeves on them - perfect

I used to have a Peugeot Partner (which is the same as a Berlingo) and the ramp I have, the red bits are designed to rest on the load floor not the bumper, same with Transporter I have now

That's great thanks . So the three red tabs sit on the load floor and the underside is clear of the bumper ? I must admit I thought something like this would be more expensive, thanks .

I use ratchet straps attached to the loops on the barrow , don't think a Porterlite has the loops on it but you could attach to the frame somehow or the screws that hold the frame together maybe

Mine is uses weekly for the lads motocross and sparsely when i get to go fishing. it actually sits on my bumper which i have a slice of carpet I've fixed underneath so no marks.

I've been using the same ramp for 2 years + without issues, too be fair i never fold mine down.

Some great ideas there , thanks . Yeah , no loops on my porterlight unfortunately but as you say must be able to get a strap around the frame somewhere . Did think certainly at the back to run one strap over just in front of the handles and hook each side . Not sure if it would still move though ???

Iv looked at these motor bike ramps a few times over the years , I'm not sure why , my scaffold plank does a very (cheap) job.

For your information, Iv never once slipped off the side

I just ratchet the barrow down to two fixed rings, so much easier than packing it all separately

5 foot floor joist out the skip at site .. rubber mat screwed to floor of van to fold out over the bumper to save any marks 👍 5 years in no issues
